Neither have I (they don't look like monkeys), but since the term "porch monkey" was first used in the 1800s (when slavery was legal), it's been associated with racism. Wonder where "cracker" came from.

Anyway, I'm sure McCain will negotiate with the fish. Bush did say: "I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully."

What are you talking about? I was referring to McCain's levels in Missouri. He's got a slight lead on Obama ATM.

this not true either

Bush does have a certain "monkey-ness" about him that will be exploited by caricaturists - and this is not simply because Presidents look a little like monkeys, but because Bush does.

On the other hand, Obama does not resemble a monkey except in regards to the ol' black people are monkeys thing - which is racist, or except in regards to the fact that all humans kind of resemble monkeys - neither of which makes a good reason for caricature.

Assuming Obama is president, then caricaturists will no doubt find some other likeness that Obama's features suggest - and exploit it. It's unlikely to be a monkey though, and you'd be justified in being suspicious of the intent of Monkey-Obama collages.

As usual, don't bother answering the question, just chastise for some perceived convolution of your statement. right back at ya

By the way, in your esteemed opinion, would the term redneck be considered racist?

I find it disturbing that people are allowed to post monkey-images of a black person in the name of "equalness". Heres hoping its just election jitters talking, Neal.

I find it disturbing that people are allowed to post monkey-images of any politician. It's demeaning to the monkeys:rotfl:

I find it disturbing that a ridiculous doctrine such as political correctness even exists. If everybody is equal, let them be ridiculed equally. Making it a one sided deal is no less racist or bigot.

Oh but I did. You only want to call Obama a monkey because you liked Bush, and people bashing him makes you angry.

I would consider "redneck" an insult towards a group of people.

So, lets say Bush was regularly shown inside an oven for some reason, would it be ok for a supposed jewish president in waiting to be shown in the same way?

No, it wouldnt, and it has nothing to do with pc, its called common sense.
