Being serious now, one thing I do recommend prior to d/l GWX is to d/l either my (free) MD5Compare application (check my website) or another of your choice.

Because, in addition to the core GWX files, you'll be able to download a very small .md5 file which will contain all the correct MD5 sums* for each GWX installer "piece" (MD5 sums for each file will also be listed in the release post and webpage etc).

After you have d/l all of GWX, open this .md5 file in MD5Compare and it will tell you VERY quickly whether any of your d/l files are corrupt. Hence you'll know *before* you start installing GWX whether your d/l is OK, rather than when the installer finds a corrupt file during installation. This provides great piece of mind and helps reduce uncertainty about corruption if subsequent install problems do arise.

The use of MD5 sums for determining the validity of GWX downloads will replace the use of file size comparisons. As I'm sure most of you know, same file size does not necessarily mean that the files are the same. Only a true file checksum comparison can determine whether the destination is the same as the source.

*For those that don't know, an MD5 sum, hash, or digest, is a 128-bit "fingerprint" represented as 32 hexadecimal digits. If you d/l a lot from the internet, you may have seen these values before. Essentially, if the MD5 sum of your file is the same as the host's, then it's safe to assume that your file is not corrupt. If they're different, assume that your file is corrupt.

### Notice for SH3 Commander users intending to run GWX ###

If you use SH3Cmdr, please ensure that you read "### Important notice to users of SH3 Commander ###" on page 8 of the manual. And yes, the referenced file is available now for d/l. Obviously don't install it until you get GWX! Just ensure that when you *do* install it, you install it into your \SH3 Commander\Cfg folder...nowhere else. If you don't get a "Would you like to replace existing file" message, then you have installed it into the wrong place.

It's been mentioned before, but SH3Cmdr R2.5 and below are NOT supported by GWX. Please ensure that you are running SH3Cmdr R2.6, R2.6.1 or R2.7. Of course, I recommend R2.7. Those who have kept R2.5 because they didn't like the idea of default malfunction effects introduced in R2.6 will be happy to know that R2.7 makes the feature optional. No reason not to upgrade now!

You are being to kind....the movies were just God awful. Arnies thick accent really made it difficult to understand him. Now he is the Gov of California, go figure.

GWX Version 1.0 to be released in roughly 24 hours. All release mirrors functional.

Team and testers naturally get first crack at them.
