@ Catfish...Rome looks nice....must go there one day. The Golden House, the Circus Maximus, I'd give the Coloseum a BIG miss - an ugly slaughterhouse built on top of the Golden House. What a travesty.

I read an account once of the German army in Rome during WW2. They were digging trenches for fortifications and they found these mass graves for animals that were killed in the Arena. Masses of bones of Lions, Tigers, Elephants, etc, and still after nearly 2000 years the place STANK.
