Default thanks for the pic's Monolith

Got to love that new oil slik work and fire's that l3th4l made for the mod!!!

But you know what is still bugging the hell out of me? This damm picture that was posted about the moon.

I just realized looking at the moon in my game time and time again since Rockin Robin's posted this and his question. One he is looking at the moon at an angle with the camera to check the size of it.

You can not do that. The camera slowly distorts size and shape as it get's more off center from what you are trying to see. The only way to compair size with the camera is looking act the object with it dead center of the screen to get an actual view of the size and shape.

Also unless he is using filters for his game I am not why is that moon not white? If it is Seeadler's moon from his mod then ya that moon is actualy a differn't size than the one we have set up and using for our work.

Haven't had much of chance to give ROW a thorough run through, but preliminary testing is so far yeilding good results.

Default thanks for the pics rodan54

And seaniam81 only when it is close to the horizonal line and you have to look at it head on directly center camera view to see the actual size. As it rises the sun and moon both slowly get smaller but if you look at it center camera view it is smaller. Why is your moon yellow and mine is white?

Hmm... I have an 8800GTS (EVGA 640MB - 580MHz) as well, but I'm running the hi rez foam just fine. I know it's subjective but by fine I mean 40 to 70 fps (it flits up and down between those extremes) when I'm in an outside type view in moderate to heavy weather.

I use 4x AA and AF at 1680x1050 with the 163.69 drivers.

Other important system stuff:

E6600
4GB Mushkin PC2 6400 4-4-3-10

Explosions and fire at close range are what get me though.

JD
I have 35-45 frames with hi-res foam, the problem comes with explosions and fire.
I have made my own seafoam on 1024x1024 textures.. looks great, works perfect in all conditions.

The effect is identical to that which you get from using an untra-wide angle lens in photography:

Default Haven't gotten to play much lately,

but being a big "fan" of the moon, I felt lucky when, on my first patrol after starting a new career, I found a full one.

Now, I'm looking forward to lighting up a few ships so I can get my "fire fix".:rotfl:

Hiya's,
Just posting back about the 8800 gts vidcards

I tried all vista drivers from day 1 to latest beta, Alas in 4x AA etc the hi-res-sea-foam stutters

Me thinks maybe 4gig or more of ram may help slightly but looks like the gts at x4 can't cut the mustard

Overclocked like no tomorrow and still slight stutters

BUT .......... The classic foam is still awesome

Obviously lower card settings may help

If anyone does manage hi-res-foam on the 8800 gimme a shout

Cheers

Happy Hunting

LBO has more pictures than any mod but not this one.

What the heck Leo, half the time my chin is on the keyboard in utter amazement. I can not get to the shift/F11 keys due to my chin and sometimes with the drowl on the keyboard my finger slips off these keys anyway. Every once in a while I'm able to snap out of it to take a screenshot! Really man, nice work.
