Goodie, thanks. IR is awesome. Seeing through smoke really opens up another tactical aspect.

Accidentally?

Been playing Operation Arrowhead for the past 2 days.
One of the first things I have noticed is how much better it makes use of my Tri core CPU. In multiplayer and other game modes it was less likely to bog down. |

The editor rocks. I've spent the last four days scripting the intro for a mission I'm working on. It's the closest I'm ever going to get to being a film director. I've even just been loading up the new maps, sticking down a SUV and a civ unit and driving around looking for location to "shoot" in. All I've done recently is muck around in the editor and relive my youth by watching old skateboard videos from the 80's on youtube. A virtual pint to whoever can tell me which vid the phrase "Yabble Dabble" came from. I'll even throw in a packet of pork scratchings if you can tell me who said it?
![]() Neverwinter Nights 2 or Arma 2: which has got the better editing suite? I think this game just edges it. The scripting has always felt so much more intuitive than in NWN and it feels like you can do just about anything you can imagine. I've always disliked the campaigns in Bis games; too often they just seem like it's your squad against an entire army. To be honest, if I want large scale combat in the angry desert I'll boot up CMSF. |

ArmA II had nice campaign, until they got lazy and turned it into singleplayer warfare mode.

Yeah, you're right there, actually. I lost interest about half way through it. it's a shame, I think, because the tools are there to create the most engrossing single player experience of any game on the market. They just need to think outside the box a bit more. Having said that, I guess they know that there will be a whole bunch of missions and campaigns cooked up by people that would do things Bis never even thought off.

Operation Arrowhead's campaign was rubbish. ArmA II's was decent, but I wouldn't necessarily call it good. Operation Flashpoint's three campaigns (Cold War Crisis, Red Hammer, Resistance) were the best and are still good, even by today's standards.

Really?! Been waiting ages for .338 Lapua.
![]() Seriously, that alone is enough reason to buy for me. ![]()

I'm just hoping it really comes in .338, because afaik the Brits also use that same rifle in 7.62x51 NATO.
edit: Actually that variant should be the one chambered in .338: Quote:

Aye, as far as I can "research", only Germany uses it as chambered for .300, all other countries adopted it chambered for .338. Looking very good.
![]() Finally a dedicated sniper round. Let's hope they get the ballistics right. ![]()
