The danish beer is a totally different stoy.

Not true. It is the supermarkets who are not allowed to sell alcohol over 3.5%. You can in fact buy proper beer like everwhere else but you have to go to one of the state alcohol stores - 'Systembolaget'. They tend to stock a pretty decent selection of lagers, weissbiers, and microbrews.

Btw it's called Weißbier and not Weizenbier!!
That's why I am happy to live in the free state of NRW where we are allowed to do any beer-perversions we like!

The general superiority of the Rhineland, not only over Bavaria but over most of the rest of the world can be seen that our usual glass contains only 0.2 liters.
"Why is a small glass superior?", the unknowingly reader might ask.
Easy answer: When we sit in a pub, especially outside in the summer, we always have a cold brew. The Bavarians, with their big Maß glass, have to sip the stale and warm rest when they don't do speed-drinking.

That's the best Weißbier available on this Planet. Everything else is just Bier.

And the best Place to drink Weißbier is at places like this:

Weißbier with Bananajuice, unbelievable!
To my defense, I only said it improves the cheap Weizen, in Lidl-Plörre you can put in crude oil and it would better its taste.

Regarding Karg:
10 points go to Bavaria for still offereing the brew in the glory old bottlle form, a form which fits perfectly into a man's hand - unlike those pansy Eu-bottles...
A minus point though for not having a wooden table on their own when they too the beer pic (obvious photoshop)

Will look out for it - or you can just send me a case, I promise I'll drink the first bottle without banana juice!

The Rhineland general superiority over Bavaria?
Not in this Universe! Saupreiß japanischer!!!
(Hey we have to keep the tradition up)
Well i have to admit that the Kölsch you have up there in NRW is really good beer and therefore the small glasses are ok.
But also remember the former bavarian PM Beckstein who said "5 Steins is not drunk!"

That's a system i don't understand at all.
Why must i go in a Liquor Store in the US or a Systembolaget in Sweden?
What's the reason for this system?
Here in Germany i go to the local Supermarket and pick my stuff.

not only over Bavaria, but the rest of the world...
And we are only under temporary Prussian occupation
(well since 1815 )
For better Rhinish beer than *ölsch, you should have travelled the 40 km up north, in the really free zone where you get Alt

The results are positive: You see no drunks on the street, no alcoholism, binge-drinking is virtually unknown - just like preching sexual abstinence prevents pregnancy...

In the US however, the laws vary from state to state, not all have liquor shops, some have it only for hard stuff (like in the other Nordic countries besides Sweden)
The most crazy thing about Systembolaget is not only that you can't buy cold beer, you can only buy single containers. So when you want to throw a party, you don't grab some cases of beer like in Germany, you buy 8 million single bottles and put them in 7 million bags...
(numbers may vary)

I've been a binge-drinking drunk on the streets in Germany. No, wait, sorry that was the Netherlands, Roermond . In Germany I was more restrained, probably because I had further to get back to bed!

The good thing was, I didn't get pregnant.

That's not true, either. You can in fact buy crates of 24 containers if you want to. The CEO at my former studio used to do that all the time when we met some milestone. The point of the Systembolaget is restrictive alcohol policy. They can in fact refuse to sell you anything if they have reason to believe you will be supplying it to minors, if you are already intoxicated or if you are underage.

Also they have no profit margin, so the high prices here are entirely due to outrageous tax on alcohol which makes it all the more hilarious with all the retards who screech about abolishing the gov't monopoly and allowing the supermarkets to stock alcohol since somehow this would result in cheaper alcohol

I don't know about other countries, but here in the U.S. the States have autonomy in most matters that concern only themselves. In California or Nevada you can by pretty much anything in the liquor department of any grocery store. Here in Utah grocery stores don't have a liquor department. You can by beer off the shelf, but it's 3.2 beer. Anything stronger has to be purchased at the State Liquor Store. This is not for religious reasons, as some who live here seem to think, nor is it because of concerns about alcohol abuse. It is, pure and simple, so the State government can maintain a monopoly on liquor sales. It's something that the average citizen has no control over, and has to either live with or move somewhere else.

There is a misuse of the word beer in this statement.

I'm a big fan of Herforder Pils, but unless you're within about 50km of the brewery it's difficult to get hold of.

Veltins is good, and a friend introduced me to Fruh Kolsch (apologies for missing the umlauts) last weekend which also went down well. Friends are visiting this weekend, so I've got a crate of Herfie to sink tonight!
