They did.
I know they could do it again is my suggestion.

Or that.

Or we could fill them all with the usual OT spam.

You can "look at it" any way you like, but your perspective isn't the one that sets the terms or decides if and when they're being violated.

Imagine walking into someone's home, taking a dump on their carpet, and then arguing that you have every right to do so even when it's pointed out to you that 1) there's a sign on the wall saying "Don't Crap Here, signed, The Owner" and 2) others have been forcibly removed from the place by the owner or his representatives for doing exactly the same thing. Surely you understand the concept of private property and the rights of a property owner to set the terms regarding who's allowed to be there and who isn't?

Eh, whatever. Hey Dowly, pass the popcorn!

lol I fully understand private property rights etc As long as not topic spamming, starting a thread on an issue that may involve BHO but is not about him is not in violation.I basically agree with the Obama thread idea IF the topic is about Obama but not right to try and force people to post anything related to BHO on one thread. As said, if it's about Obama, people should post in this thread. If it's about a political subject where Barry may be mentioned at some point, then users have every right to create a seperate thread.I think even the stuffiest moderator could agree with me on that.

You only have the rights you are given here. Neal can start keelhauling people for the use of "is" if he so chooses to, it's his website.

I think the issue here is that someone starts a thread on a topic without it being an "Obama thread," but at the point where Obama is brought into it, it is done in a way that does not specifically address the original topic in any thoughtful manner. Instead it's just another post consisting of the same old invective that adds nothing to any discussion except yet another post in a series of endless reiterations of how much the poster hates Obama.

It would be like someone who hates SH3 going to the SH3 forum and replying to thread after thread, not with something meaningful regarding the questions being asked or issues being reported or experiences being shared, but with some angry rant about how much SH3 sucks. Over and over again, until it drowns out almost everything else.

If all you have to say is that you think Obama sucks, fine. But if that's the primary or only sentiment you have to add to a discussion about some topic on a political or social issue, it gets old. Really fast.

Like that's never happened anywhere on Subsim before.

I love the fact that the biggest argument in the Obama thread is whether or not it is the right place to have an argument about Obama.
