The Obama Thread

In a desperate bid to reduce the amount of new threads about the same person and same subject being created. Here is The Obama Thread (tm).
In this thread you can post about all the new bad things Obama has done and why he is ruining America, likewise you can post about all the good things Obama has done and how he is doing good things for America.
All new stories, new email circulations, copy and pastes with no links...all of them go here.

This is in order to adhere to the 'Subsim.com Radio Room Rules and Acceptable Use Policies'

Please do not engage in "topic spamming", where you post several threads on the essentially the same topic in a short period of time. If you want to discuss women's synchronized swimming, fine; start a topic on it. But don't start another topic on women's synchronized swimming clothing, women's synchronized swimming schedules, etc. for several weeks. Same goes with threads on politics, religon, and cultural issues. We don't need six threads on "Obama is ruining America" and eight topics on "Arabs are Evillll!" on the same page.

Most of the threads are not about Obama but about different topics, therefore no one should post here unless it's a SPECIFIC complaint or praise about Obama.Trying to force people to put it all in one thread will take away from different subjects and become confusing. So stop trying to shut down the debate on various subjects relating but not specifically about Barry O, thanks.

Wow, a Obama tread great, Who is the man by the way

yes yes I read that and it means nothing to me.Posting threads that have different subjects but BHO comes up somehow is NOT spamming.Don't try to use a loose interpretation of subsim rules to slow or shut down the debate.

That's not a loose interpretation of the rules. It is exactly what the rules say. Topic spamming is not permitted. Fine if you want to talk about Obama. Use one of the many existing threads.

razark 09-23-10 04:28 PM

The threads may start on different topics, but they all seem to end up in the same place.
:nope:

Aramike 09-23-10 04:32 PM

But really, is it necessary to start yet ANOTHER Obama thread when the topic could have just as easily been moved to one of the many existing ones? :timeout:

Bubblehead1980 09-23-10 04:35 PM

Well if that happens razark, it happens but its not spamming, it would get confusing and difficult to follow a discussion if everyone even related to Obama were in one thread.

So I implore everyone to ignore the ridiculous request to only post in the Obama thread if its a different subject such as healthcare etc that may end up with Obama mentioned. This is just certain people making an effort to slow down the debate.

I agree, if it's just about Obama, post here but if its a different subject that may involve him a some point, create a new thread.

Example1:I am sick of Obama, he is scum etc etc....post here

Example2:The Healthcare bill is already harming America.I can't believe Barry O signed it.The taxes and so on.Post in a new thread.

XabbaRus 09-23-10 04:35 PM

bubblehead I merged all the Obama threads as they were essentially all along the same lines, basically about how bad Obama and his policies are.

No one is shutting down discussion as there was little discussion, just post after post about how bad Obama is and how he is destroying America in particular how you feel about him. Now you can post in the merged thread or this one but when I come into GT and see several Obama related threads that are nothing but opinion generated as fact and that they seem to be dominating GT then house will be cleaned.

I don't know if you were here at the time but we had a user called subman1 who basically spammed GT funnily enough about Obama. He was warned on countless occasions and eventually brigged. Now I don't like doing that and don't want to but it is just a lesson. Please take heed.

Yes, they do. And no one is trying to stop naturally-evolving discussions. If it goes there, it goes there. My gripe, and the gripe of others, is about starting a new thread every time someone reads something or hears something they don't like about Obama. Yesterday, for example, there were three threads made about the president in less than a 12-hour period and all by the same poster. That is textbook topic spamming.

Fine if discussions evolve. Fine if you want to add to the existing threads. Fine if you post a new topic every once in awhile. Topic spamming, however, is annoying and clutters the forums. It is for that reason that the rule exists.

Not saying that you were making that point, razark. I just used the opportunity to clarify my view of the matter.

EDIT: And it is not about Obama. The same stance was taken on Bush, Iraq, DRM, Islam, Starforce, et al.

Tchocky 09-23-10 04:45 PM

Hehe, there are a few "too many Obama threads" discussions going on, in separate threads :P
