That would be a nice addition. The messages are just text. You need to create the book type texture. I'm sure the messages would display on the book.

Been away from the boards too long I guess (spending all my spare time on the bridge watching ROW ) - missed this thread completely somehow. Great ideas - looking forward to this, as the radio messages (both text and the great radio sound mod packs out there) really do provide about the only link to the rest of the war and the world outside your little boat on those long, lonely patrols.

Last night I added 15 more lines of news and messages. Does not sound like much but do 15 lines every night for 5 nights and now you have quite a few messages that could be received by the submarine.

This sounds great AVG. Another fantastic immersion booster for the game. Can't wait till your finished.

I'm with you Monolith, the clipboard is pretty lame. An actual log book combined with AVG's work on the message system would be the balls.

AVG, what is the bare bones format for a priority message?

I'd like a test messages.txt where there is a single message. If it works, I know I am having messages.txt called.

If you open the massage.txt file in the main campaign file you will see at the top the values that make messages a priority and will keep transmitting until the sub receives it. I believe 100% for priority message the value of 1 to keep transmitting until received. You will also see on the left hand side the dates you want to transmit the messages. I hope I answered your question. I was a bit unclear as to what you are asking.
