one simple fix to the "corrupted saved game" blues is to have several different saved games per patrol at hand (in other words, don´t overwrite previous saves)

The "I never save in order to avoid the bug" approach just isn´t feasible when you consider that there are lots of other ways to crash your game (not to mention that finishing a whole patrol in one sitting isn´t an easy thing to do)

P.S.: I think I liked your previous signature better, the one with the cigar... It evoked an image of tranquility after victory.

Two small freighter drove me nutz yesterday, had to stick with them at low visibility for hours 'til each sank.

In GWX, each ship requires slightly different hit areas. Most will sink with one torpedo if hit right. (I can't hit right consistently). In convoy attacks when unable to get perfect position and AOB, had good luck with one shot magnetics against large mechies.
