Nice, the 1.05 patch disables DRM so now people can play without having the damn CD/DVD in the drive.
I have everything I need except the game that Amazon still hasn't send me (damn holidays ).
So is there a server where subsimers that play Arma 2 hang out ?

DRM removal was a nice gift indeed, not that it affected me though(downloadable version). At the moment the Clowns aren't actively playing A2 as a group, but you'll find me on Tacticalgamer's servers. You need to register on the forums there to get access to TS, but other than that no commitments are necessary.

On another note ACE2 is out now, currently at version beta2, and Arma2 is pretty well patched up so maybe it would be a good time to revive the Clowns?

Count me in if you do. Little heads up would be nice though, might take a little effort to get it to run stable.

God knows the first attempts certainly weren't.

I got back into Arma 2 with the 1.05 patch, and I find myself having tons of fun with the EW campaign.

Wow, this game is awesome. I had forgotten about the Arma/Arma 2 experience as I never played number 2 very much due to a slightly weak computer, and i decided it was better to wait than to play it on low settings. I forgot that these games are all about frustration and then magically you have some experiences that are just awesome, so you keep coming back for more.

A few questions: How do I make a soldier heal another soldier when I am team leader? Cant find any commands in the command menus.

And how do I give weapons from crates to other team members?

Select your corpsman, then hit "6" for action and another number, usually "1", to select an action that heals someone. The action should read something like "Heal rifleman", "Heal machinegunner", etc

Tell them to move close to the ammo crate, and once they're there select the guy then hit "6" for action and whatever number reads "Gear". He should move to the crate and a normal gear menu should pop up, but this time it moves gear from the crate to the AI's inventory or vice-versa.

So is this worth buying now, or waiting until the bugs are worked out better.

I have an issue with Characters glasses not rendering correctly. Show show up as a bright color. Such as white or yellow.

Just needed a little time to mature. Most people end up playing modded (I think it's most, anyway), but there are no mods just after launch.

I wanted a sim, but I got a game. Now with ACE, it looks like a sim again.

Just played through the first couple campaign missions. Pretty neat so far. Will get ACE in the near future.

So I've been fiddling around with ARMA 2, I have to say I do enjoy it a lot.

Although I have a question that I hope can be answered.

I have a Joystick, and tried practicing helicopter flight. I set up Z axis(which is a slider) as the Throttle(Analogue). It shows up in the Control Scheme as Logitech Attack 3 -Z Axis. The problem is 0% throttle in game, is the half way mark on my slider. So I only have an itty-bitty amount of space for trying to control my speed. If I go to far the helicopter smashes into the ground.
I've tried tweaking it but only got myself confused. What am I doing wrong?
