Leaving Pearl Harbor, December 8, 1941 in Fall of the Rising Sun Ultimate Edition v.05Alpha EN.
And that's what you'll miss if you elect to start your first cruise outside the harbor. This mod is a keeper!

I didn't mean you had used it and it was causing memory problems What I meant was - Try using it, it will solve your memory problems, by allowing SH4 to access more than 4 GB of Ram That is what I did to stop the Museum crashing on me Available here https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/t...-aware.112556/

And some final Museum testing for tonight before I play a war patrol for a couple of hours
I loaded up the museum and viewed every nation with every unit (ships, subs, coastal, aircraft - the lot) The results are very encouraging Mostly just minor stuff The good news is that there is only one other unit in the game that crashes the Museum That is the US Battleship USS Iowa Apart from that there were just the following minor issues. The two USS Super Battleships USS New Jersey and USS Montana appear in the museum without main turrets The German Z Class Destroyer appears with no texture The Netherlands Flower Class Corvette appears with no texture In addition to the above I made an interesting discovery The FOTRS team created an additional nation called Red Cross And assigned the following hospital ships to it Might be worth us checking out to see if these Red Cross units have actually been inserted into the campaign layers - otherwise we ain't gonna see them!

CTD - it's not just a job

Definitely want to properly ID your intended "target"...
I've not tried to use the "mileage-to-empty" yet. I'll have to give that a go. Could it be that some boats don't have a "hook" for them to use it? I'm still trying to decide which ships in the museum don't have sound, and which ones do. Some of them seem to have sound, but it's down low... Edit: I cannot get into the Museum anymore, AppCrash c0000005, probably too big for my Win7-64 quad core and 8 gig of ram... and I do have the large memory aware thingie done on SH4 exe - trying other options... ratz. ... OK, I've downloaded "Large Address Aware" and we'll see. Since I don't use the Museum all that much to begin with, the rest of SH4/FOTRS has worked flawlessly for me so far.
Please correct me if I'm making an incorrect assumption here. We are we rushing ahead with getting the v2.o ships into v1.3 without waiting to see what Florida Sailor has done for us. He did say when I talked to him last week that he was almost finished with the work. I've probably mised something somewhere but I had to ask. OK, I loaded the "Large Address Aware" utility and the Museum still crashes.

Ok, you've convinced me. Maybe I wasn't up to speed for the game to figure out my Maximum range at current speed. For me it just came back ".....unavailable". I wonder if the feature takes a specific amount of time for the game to calculate this? You need to be at a specific speed, for a specific amount of time, before it will calculate the Range?! I'll be loading up v0.5 alpha to see what's what.

Hey, I just discovered a new ship in FOTRS that I've not seen before.
It's called a Old Big Split Tanker

The modders have done a beautiful job so far...Now for a real problem for you to work on...Medals,example sinking 2 or more capital ships in one engagement=navy cross sinking 1 capital ship 1 lower class warship and 6 merchants =silver star, and so on down the line..The pacific theater award is automatic award the day you ship out...Make the system realistic...Good luck modders..

My results for using the "Maximum Range at current Speed" is still different, showing ......Not Available???
I had just plotted my course from Pearl using the first default mission for Dec 8 1941, using the Porpoise. The two other buttons work fine......the "Time to end of Course" and the "Range to course End". After running for more than 5 and a half days, I'm still not getting a calculation: So how are you getting a calculation and I'm not? ================= After running the v0.5 alpha I'm seeing a couple of things.....Can't go to the Weapons and Sensors screen when on a patrol mission (least not the first mission out of Pearl on Dec 8 '41). Neither the HUD Button work's or the menu tab at the top of the "Sub Management" screens. The Medals on the "Crew Management" screen are using names that are not associated with the correct medal: Am I the only one seeing this, or is there something wrong with my game. I did a "Compare Snapshot" of my stock game files......nothing wrong with my stock game files since I did a complete new install back in March. =================== Quote:

I'm sure Florida Sailor is doing a good job porting the v2.0 ships. We do have backups of FOTRS Ultimate versions before we started porting ships so, nothing wrong here. We're not releasing anything, just testing. I really hope he has better results than us. Capt'Scurvy, the maximum range button does not work for me either. |

Can I check that you are using the same release as me? 100 FalloftheRisingSun_Ultimate_v.05Alpha_EN Rockin Robins, XTBilly, CDSubron - can any of you guys check this in your installs? Please check the Max Range at current speed button to see if it works please? Either CapnScury of Myself have a problem with our install
