U-163 made her second "Drumbeat" patrol in March 1942.

U-163 in a night convoy attack during Operation Paukenshlag. Four hours later, over 70,000 GRT lay in the sand off the United States


A lone merchant caught on the way home. Out of torpedoes, U-163 engaged with the deck gun.


U-163 returning to Lorient - triumphant with 93,000 GRT sunk!
