Omg its an face!

That face in the middle was interesting, but I couldn't get past all the Scooby Doo faces all over the place:

I think this has got some real promise, but it does need to be darker and Scooby Doo has got to go

I have managed to make the smoke darker but if i rotate the TGa in certain directions ,im afraid its either scooby, mario bros, monster face or george bush.

The link in the first post has an empty file. Can you check this out, sober?

Personally I like the original white smoke texture(not color) better...the darker seems to have lost some of the detail of the original to my eye-I'll dl the white and stick with that for now, thanks for making it darker though.

btw, sober, what are your specs?--particularly graphics card, and what version of graphics driver are you using?...you're graphics look awesome.

Sober, do you know why the large smoke cloud looks much better in you pic than in mine? The small smoke looks awesome with me, but when the smoke gets bigger it seems like the textures get bigger also?

Default You like my smoke

I build the "dark smoke V_1.1" in my SH3 and tested it in Campaign. At night and daylight it´s fine. I feel better than the very black one from stock.
In german-subsim are some info about your smoke.

Nice pics Sober! Hope everything turned out ok for those aboard. That's what I was hinting at for your mod. Kill the brightness a little

I'd happily settle for Scoobie or Mario Bros.....but not George Bush, i've had enough of his deceitful lying evil mug for years thanks very much.

The only good bush is a shrubbery!

Sober - finally sank something last night (first one since installing your smoke), and the smoke did indeed look impressive - the little Brazilian Kustenschiff must have been carrying ammo or fertilizer or something, as it exploded and sank in less than 2 minutes after being hit with 1 torpedo, and the smoke output was prodigious. It was still a trifle too light for my taste, but impressive nonetheless, and Scooby Doo was not too much in evidence, at least when viewed from my boat. The ship sank so quickly that by the time I thought to zoom over there in external view she was already gone and the smoke was dissipating (which it did very nicely, BTW). Looking good so far.

Is there any way to randomize the smoke effect (maybe using SH3 Commander?) so that some ships would use this lighter smoke and some would use other smokes (like Dowly's that I was using before this)?
