I'm deliriously delighted that you would deign to drop that daisy in my direction.

Mods = Bernards. Got it.

So, no mods means no Bernards? No, no one could be that lucky.

Is there a ratio of Bernards to mods, or is it simply 1 Bernard for each mod?

Don't worry. Now´s the time to eat drink and dance the night away. Don´t forget to bring your tea cozy.

If it is one per mod, I'm in big trouble.

TO BDU

FROM you know who

02 May 1940

Admiral, too bad you missed the party. It was very hoochie woochie and I was admired a great deal. People kept pointing out my peacock tea cozy.

I am now visting the Western Approaches and doing some heroic kabooming with a convoy full of Bbritish ships. I wore a Teddy Bear tea cozy while sinking the Southhampton. One torpedo missed but it sank a mittel fracht dampfer by not missing it. Now this comvoy is not so full of British shipping and British dock workers can take a day off instead of unloading two munition ships. A Mayday gift from me to the British working class.

Kindly get medals ready and have a type IX boat nicely painted so that I can take it over on my return.

Heroically yours
Signed by you know who.
