You should also be able to left click (keeping the mouse button depressed) and drag the cursor across the line of code highlighting it, then right clicking and choosing 'copy'.

Then right click in the empty MD5 box and select 'paste'.

Have you directed the first part (line 1) programme to your file location and seen information in the box?

Now copy and paste the exe code number into part 2 then activate part 3.

Right.........follow the steps I posted earlier to fill line one ie: go to the folder you put all 8 files into via the small activation box at the right of the empty step 1 box.

Click on the little box and go to said folder containing the 8 files.

Click on the exe.

Now go to my previous post containg the 8 separate codes and copy and past the exe code into the step 2 empty box....you can't simply hand type the code in, you must copy and paste.

part 3 Compare should now be able to be activated.

Copied, pasted, then again selected the exe file which seems like comparing the same file.

is that right?

So far exe matches

Yes...each file has to be checked against the individual code for same numbered file.

The MD5 compares the code you entered with the code contained within the file.

If they correspond the file is good if it doesn't then it's faulty and needs to be d/l again.

Simple as that really.

If all the codes appear okay then at least you know the exe and bins are fine and the problem lies within your computer.

I'm not sure which problem I'd prefer

Many thanks, Jimbo!

However, the MD5 seems a bit crazy like checking a file not against the separate numbers but itself.

First you place downloaded file in box 1
then you paste numbers in box 2
Then replace numbers in box 2 with downloaded file to activate button 3

so it appears you are checking DL file against DL file

Ha! Just what I thought.

I changed the code number as a test and the MD5 told me the files were the same.

So something is wrong with this method to activate #3

Why the 3rd operation I've changed to yellow?

There are only two operations not three.

Place file 1 in box one and code for file 1 in box 2....that is all.

I've just placed bin file 4 in box 1 then code for bin file 5 in box 2 and got the red message 'The MD5 sums are different!'

That should not be possible.

Go back to post #23 and #29

You are on the single file tab?

Click on the small square to the right of the empty section 1.

Point it to wherever you have the 8 files located eg: C\Desktop\GWX files.

Click on it and the folder will open revealing all 8 files, select the exe and click on Open, the blank box in section 1 should now show the location of the file.

Now do the same with the small square to the right of the empty section2.

Point it to wherever you have saved those 8 lines of code or better still, copy the exe code from #29.

Paste it into the empty section 2 box DO NOT TYPE IT IN BY HAND

The part 3 Compare button should now be activated and hopefully will give you the resultant message in blue as posted on #29, if the message is in red then the file is faulty.

Now repeat the process with the rest of the files bin 1 > code for bin 1....bin 2 > code for bin 2, one at a time until you have checked them all.

Alles Klaar
