There is part of that but i don't think the increase cost in transit fees would equate to a 200 dollar discount per litre.

One possible solution. Coal. Because West Virginia would like to have your money.

I don't think my apartment is worth $950 per month either but apparently it's what the market will bear...

I'm Polish. Well. It looks like the Ukraine have not enough money after the "orange revolution", and don't pay for the gas. So I supose Ukraine take some gas from the stuff which goes to Poland. But in Poland I don't notice some great problems with gas.
Only one time the preassure of the gas was smaller. For many peoples in the west, Poland and Ukraine is the same thing, but Polish think is very diffrent than Ukrainian.

As to the Poland in the UE. I was sure this is a bad idea from the beagining. UE Is the organization with the central control economy on the top level. Yes I know. Capitalism on the lover level, but what for if on the top is central control system. We have something simmilar to this earlier in Poland.

In Poland after 1989 most of peoples was hungry for the freedom and everything from the west. Most Polish politics today, are the politics with brain which is perfect for the organization like UE because they was born in the central control system. They was young when ZSRR and Warsaw pact was something real. The wrongest things is a fact the most peoples in Poland belive our bad politics and don't see true face of the UE.

Sorry for my language.

I don't have a problem with Poles we have many working at my company.

What I have an issue with isn't the government as such but the twin brothers who even with Tusk as PM seem to exert the most sway over Poland's policies....

1.the era of "twin brothers" has ended.2. their name is "Kaczynski", not "Kazynski".3.It's Ok for me if The Sun calls what Polish Pres. says "moaning" but he is the first who doesn't run the policy on his knees like it was before. I'm wondering why this "200" for 1000 m3 was OK till The Orange Revolution. And when Skybird "discovered" that Ukraine is stealing gas I almost peed in my pants. Everyone knows it but for last decades it wasn't a problem. And, yeah much of this "essay" was true except the part when Skybird started to flame Poland. Actually we were a victim(XabbaRus)of USSR untill 1989 but it's a whole different story. I know one thing-if there is a deal between country A and Z about sending gas, and Z gets less than it should, then A has a problem. I don't give a **** how Russia transport this gas-we get less than we should and we have the right to "moan". Sure that "some people"(mostly Kaczynski)spin this but that's simply his role. To be more on the right than PM Tusk.

WTF?
Skybird, get yourself a blog!
I don't say "get a life" because the stuff you write is good, so you don't have to get a life
Writing such essays here is pearls cast before swine!
Not even I could bring myself to read all of it.
You can easily piss off Subman with 3 line posts, so why write three frackin pages???
:rotfl:

Re the gas "argument", I (expectedly) think the ukrainian government, namely the President Yushenko is using this to stir up **** in their own country, try to get financial support in the west and secure votes for his party and himself in the upcoming elections.
Russia, on the other hand, is not in the position to curry out favors, especially not to nations that pursue a hostile policy.
The EU is trying to diversify its gas sources to such utterly stable muster democracies as Iran or Algeria.
Actually this whole thing is one big argument for the nord stream pipeline, even though the poles will not like it.

Don't give me the victim thing.

In fact the only former Warsaw pact country I hear that from apart from the Baltic states which I can understand is from Poland. I never hear that stuff from teh Czechs, Slovakians etc.

I understand that there is a dependence, based on the pre-built infastructure, on NG. But again, we can help, we can ship what they need, energy creating material that comes naturally from the earth. Coal. Say it all with me, COAL.
It was used once, and yes, that's right, it can be used again. To heat your homes, to cook your food, to power your industry.
You need not have to get your main source of energy from Russian, there are other sources. And West Virginia would be more then happy to help you with those needs.

The tap on anyones end. Just by dint of geography Russia has it.

As if we wouldn't like to be in control of the tap.
