I play over on Elune, but I'm going to be closing both my WoW and Star Wars Galaxies accounts so I can free up the cash to subscribe to POTBS and Age Of Conan.(When it gets released that is.). I do plan on returning to WoW when their next expansion comes out though.

But what I'm really looking forward to is Bioware's upcoming MMO. It was supposedly the deciding factor on EA buying Bioware...so it must be a killer game even in the stage it's in now. I still think it's going to be a MMORPG based on the KOTOR universe, but we'll see in 2009.
Yeah the Age of Conan might make me leave WoW temperary. Ive been keeping one eye on AoC looks very promising.

Well, I started a new character. A Gnome Warlock with the idea of being the best engineer in all of Azeroth!

Engineering sounds damn fun and I need to give it a go!

Had to search for STV to know what that meant...

WoW ordered from Asda...now I just have to wait to see if it gets me hooked.

Agreed. I havent gotten the chance to play since May, but its the only game I would consider paying a monthly fee for. The community is great, and easily 100x better then WoW's.

Very interesting thread for an outsider like me.

Personally, I never liked the idea of playing a MMORPG. I play games because I want some escapism, because I want to be something I cannot be in real life. And not compete with a lot of other suckers about everything I want, and learn to live with them, like in real life.

The only thing that would fascinate me (and some close friends) is the idea to play a RPG cooperatively with a party 2-4 friends. Unfortunately there are no such games.

Neverwinternights 1 & 2 allows that. In Wow you can join groups or a guild and do the quests together - which helps each other to level up quickly than going alone.

Actually, that's a big draw for a lot of MMOs. Partying up and doing instances in WoW and similar such things in other MMOs are high on the fun factor. Not to mention I've met some fun people - it's not all assmonkeys playing these types of games.

Exactly. Im sratching my head at what GlobalExplorer means when he mentions no such co-operative rpg's exists? There's many RPG's today with the co-op options. Wow & most mmos are big on co-op play. Thats what keeps the wheels rolling and thats why they are huge compared to single player games. I play for the fun factor, the socialising, and the hard work you have to put into it to earn your gear. Another thing i notice everyday when playing wow is players have manners - You get lost, ask in chat and many are there to help, theres always a Thankyou, You have a good day or Glad i could help replies - politness is big in wow. I'm yet to come across someone thats nasty to me maybe im just playing on the right servers?
Far as what ive seen in the game we're all well mannered adults enjoying ourselves in a make believe world....Then theres the ganking that goes on to let out the tension

I think what he meens is that most mmo's are not realy designed with small groups of 2-4 players in mind. Wow is realy designed for 6-8 person groups for the smaller instances and then you have the huge raid groups.

Correction: It was supposed to be a killer game, but now that EA is around, it will most propably suck. EA tends to have that kind of effect to games near it.

EA buys out any game company who makes quality products, then they screw with it and turn it into crap. Sadly I'm sure Bioware's game will turn into something like that in the end.

Makes me laugh to hear you all going on about how we Wow players take the game too seriously - have you read the SHIII or IV forums recently ? lol

I have a lvl 62 Rogue (and - yes they do kick ass, except against Hunters) Part of the reason you don't see me as much in these forums anymore, is because I'm well and truly hooked. The other reason was the petty arguments.

Some of the comments about other players and the way they act is true, but my mates 7 year old plays. This is what a lot of people don't realise, during the day, a lot of kids play which is why I mainly play at night.

I've met a lot of friendly, helpful people from all over Europe and hardly met any idiots. I even run a guild now.

If you're ever on the Bronze Dragonflight server - look me up, I'm a rogue called Balvennie
