I once made a pinup poster with her photo on it, quite big for in the radio room. Then took her name as a conning tower emblem. I showed her and she liked that!

Gave me enough 'renown' for a week's play without nagging

Just a suggestion.
I just found this thread, so I'll hop in with my opinion :hmm:

Penny, Men depend on small 'releases' in life. Namely, beer, food, and GWX. There's an inherant understanding between women and men that "I'll let you do your stuff if you let me do mine". For example, Frau_Phillips may decide she wants to go clothes shopping. Pardon the pun, but that sets ALAARM bells off in a man's mind. Thats a day signed away, is that.

However, a man may use his male mind to assess the possible benefits for himself. i.e. "If I go, it'll shut her up so I can play GWX, and maybe I can convince her to purchase some sleek lingerie."

Now once again, this comes into the male talent of taking two great things, and making something better than those things, from those things. In this case:

Clothes Shopping + Women = Day gone ~ Evening + Men = GWX

_________________

Clothes Shopping + Women + Husband = Provocative ensembles + Evening GWX + Loading Time Sex.

_________________

The same can be related in other instances, such as housework, cooking and looking after the neighbours cat. The typical response is thus:

"Husband has cooked me a nice meal for tonight (Bangers and Mash ), maybe I should make him something to keep him alert when he's playing that stupid game."

Everything I wrote above is of course complete crap, and you just read it all.

The bottom line is, yes, we guys play too much GWX. But we'll stop playing so much GWX when you meet our demands too:
  • Stop watching crappy soap operas
  • Stop peeking at the neighbours through the curtains and assuming we care that they have a new fence
  • No, we dont want to hear what Claire from the post office heard about Roger the Pedophile
  • Stop moving furniture around when we're out of the house.
  • "But I have a splitting headache" does not mean we're no longer interested. We can get sick too.
  • Dont get angry at us when we drink. We enjoy beer, just as you enjoy talk shows.
  • Refrain from vacuuming when we are listening for a convoy
  • No, we are not anti-social. Every spoken word is a potential blip on the enemies sensors. I'll take my submarine over Dennis from over the street with his stupid argyle vest anyday.
  • No, we are not being lazy. We are pro-actively ensuring the safety and security of the house and the contents and people therein. Even if we are sat on the couch with a beer.
  • Its really fantastic, that new kind of shampoo you bought yourself, however, seeing as we'll never use it, please dont feel the need to inform us of beauty products you purchase, just as we dont inform you of the brands of alcoholic beverage/computer part/video game we buy.
(I'm only kidding of course, but flame away! :rotfl: )

They've got to add this to "The Seven Secrets of Happily Married GWX Couples". :rotfl::rotfl:

Today I checked my GUI thread, turned to my GF, and said:
"Friedl9te says I'm his hero!"

She gave me a look over the top of her magazine. Sensing an opportunity to wind her up, I asked:
"How come you've never said I'm your hero?"

To which she replied in a pointed tone of voice:
"Because you're not my hero. You're Friedl9te's hero."

Damn, I walked into that one.

My wife got one of those for our son last spring. We kept it outside in his little wading pool (he turns 4 next month).

I played with it more than he did.

My wife kind of knew that would happen when she bought it.

Sounds like your Wife has a really good sense of humour :rotfl:

@Kapitan Phillips, glad you put soap opera's at the top of your list; if I visit my Brother when they're on, his wife growls and snarls at me !

Sending the ball and chain overseas is a pretty expensive solution. Worth thinking about though!:hmm:

Very expensive in your case

But it's obviously worth it
