Anyone who is having this graphics problem and is willing to try a test, I have a 16km mod that uses different envcolors and skycolors files.
Use JSGME to enable it after the GWX 16KM mod and let us know if it fixes your problem. I used it to fix a graphic problem I was having with my Nvidea 7800GS. Be aware that this mod will also lighten up your night sky. It's about a 1000KB zip file and JSGME ready, if interested let me know and I can either e-mail it to you or put it on filefront.

![]() ![]() ![]() SamWolf. How about you post your fix with the above text in the SH3 FAQ sticky in this forum, and in a new thread in the SH3 Mods forum. It seems that the problematic video cards are more widely used now as opposed to our last GWX release. I'm sure there are a quite a few users that would be glad to try it out. |

No, I made no changes, I was using it before GWX2.0 so I thought I'd give it a try. It just seemed to fix my problem

I have only tried Marhk's sky files but it didn't solv my problem. I will try using the complete mod this evening. Have you tried to activating the 'synchronize' option in your SH3 video settings menu?

Heck, I've gotten to where I can hardly stand it WITHOUT this video option enable in-game. I think lots of people have simply gotten used to the graphic tearing in SH3 because they aren't sure what this option does. Synchronizing will usually lower the framerate... but will stabilize it. For instance... on my system, I get all kinds of FPS, up into the hundreds if I leave it un-selected... but it is typically STABLE at 75-76 FPS in most occasions in-game with this feature enabled. I think too that many stay away from this option because all they see is that it "lowers FPS" in various descriptions and don't realize the quality improvement they get in return. ANYTHING above 23 FPS is GOOD... as it is faster than the human eye can register. Below 23 FPS... it starts to get choppy where you notice that your system is struggling. |

I have to second the good Kpt. as far as synchronisation goes. As I undertsand it there is very little to be lost by checking this option and everything to be gained.
When I first installed GWX 2.0 I was all set to post a "Great work guys, but am having a few display problems..." thread. I was getting all kinds of tearing, and black flashes on the horizon etc... until I noticed that my PC was churning out 270fps and I had obviously forgotten to check the synchronisation option when I reinstalled. I rechecked that option and everything is bulletproof once again (well the graphics are, I'm still trying to figure out the reason for my CTD's but I'm pretty sure that's my end and not a GWX problem). Atthe end of the day if your monitor is only refreshing at 70Hz you gain no benefit in asking your gfx card to pump out 270fps. |
