I was hoping you would say that. Perhaps just a sample list of fixes to come? Looking forward to this patch!!!!

Three things that needed to be fixed that I don't see mentioned.

1)The Japanese ability to see your periscope at night,in a storm, from half an ocean away.(Visual sighting ranges really needed to be tweeked).

2)Subs diving at the same rate no matter what speed your sub is going. (Crash dives should get you under faster than going at 5 knots).

3)The "Moving your gun and not being able to place a gun crew" bug. Also the "Having two guns and not being able to place a gun crew at one of the guns" bug.

Hopefully, that isn't the full bug fix list, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

^^^ #2 is huge. the physics of the sub is pretty silly. You can hover the boat, and speed actually slows a dive down, which is insane.

Frankly, I don't see why they didn't (or perhaps they have) looked at the mods that have been done and incorporate some of the best of them into the next patch... So many man-hours have gone into them, it would be a win-win for the SH4 devs and the community... It's my understanding that *all* (most?) the mods for SH4 are presented to the community without any legal strings attached?

The visuals can be modded. I'm on hold with that until 1.4 with the 20km range though.

Or Seeadler's work and that was the reason for the uncommented removal of the environment mod from this forum:hmm:

While I'm very happy with the changes in the list, I would have liked to see the changes TheSatyr listed as well. The spotting of the periscope, especially in bad weather, while doing 2 knots needs to be fixed. While I prefer most of the AI fixes in 1.3 the visual sighting of the periscope is my #1 beef with the game along with the sub diving rate as a close 2nd.

Who knows, maybe there are more fixes that didn't make the list? :hmm:

There are legal issues involved with using mods. If a game is a huge hit, someone whose mods was used without his consent could potentially sue for a % of the profits. The lawyers would normally ask for a signed waiver from the mod maker assigning all his rights to UBI, but since mods are often improved upon by many persons, it may be difficult to pin down the exact authors. It is easier for developpers to not to get into that mess and to ignore mods altogether.
