Yep, exactly. If you have to deal with a new game having a ton of issues, and get pissed at it, it can ruin the enjoyment, even when they do get it working.

Once the honeymoon period is over (you've ripped off the cellophane wrapper from the box - hey, it's a short honeymoon) you need a solid and stable gameplay experience or it's back to the Atlantic for the interim!

PS. I'm confident that the dev team will deliver though.

Maybe preorder from other onlinestore - play.com or Sendit.com. I've just checked and in sendit it is still 16th March.

Amazon US still shows it unavailable to order. I wonder if they know something the others don't?:hmm:

I just ckecked a different site (for all German users: www.thalia.de ) and they say that they expect SH4 to be released on 15.03.07. I've sent them an email asking which release date is the correct one.

If the game was to be delayed worldwide....so what? The complaint with SH3 was that it was released too early and it wasn't ready. If there is any need to delay this game then they should delay it until it's really ready for release.

I'd rather wait until April than have to patch the game like last time.
This is so QFT!
SH3 was a technical nightmare for some. And it had at least a few problems for everyone. So much hate flowing on the forums when it was first released. Was a bad scene.
I vote they keep the game as long as they need it to ensure (as much as possible) a finished product upon release.

Hey, as I echoed in a post above, I'm all for waiting as long as necessary to get a stable, full-featured product in my hands. That said, I've never understood the disdain that some harbor for patches. As far as I'm concerned, patches are a good thing. They're not always released just to fix things (though fixing things is good in my book), they often enhance the gameplay experience and sometimes they add new content and other goodies. Once SH4 is finally released, I'll be welcoming any patches Ubi sees fit to release. Patches also show continued developer support.

Just in case you live in Germany and don't know : You can order from www.amazon.co.uk and they will ship into any EU country. I order most of my games there, because ususally the german speakers make me sick. It's a bit more expensive (shipping and VAT), and you need a credit card, but apart from that there is no difference to ordering in Germany. And as I said, the originals are so much better usually. I also succesfully ordered some french music CD's from amazon.fr when they were unavailable here.

I bought the german version of SHIII because it is authentic to hear German on a U-Boat, but German on a American sub? Nah. That would ruin the athmosphere for me completely. I always want games to be in the authentic language. That's why I played Shogun Total War in Japanese, and why I will play Stalker in Russian, to give some examples.

Unfortunately they are dubbing every game in Germany and ususally the quality is very low. At least if you know what the originals sound like.

To bad that I don't have a credit card, but on the other hand amazon.co.uk doesn't offer the CE....
