We always listenend to T's Nutcracker at Christmas, so i at least know a bit of this. Always loved "Im Tannenwald" (The forest of fir trees in winter). Now living among fir trees i can relate.. well not always, much more prosaic here

I'm no good with keeping anniversaries, I should've posted this on 4th July.

The 4th July marks a sad anniversary for the older residents of my neighbourhood.

On that day in 1975, Juanita Nielsen "disappeared".

She was a tall, elegant, beautiful, wealthy and influential young woman who passionately loved this place - Kings Cross/Potts Point. She was a bitter enemy of the Developers who were bulldozing the place and destroying it's unique character.

She was lured to her death.

I walk past her house every day, and think of her.
