So I was wrong..way out wrong. As written in an earlier post in this thread I expected Italy and England to win the group.

Thank God I didn't put money on it.

P.S. Where do the corrupt retards of FIFA find all these many bad wannabe-referees when they want to hold a big tournament? Is there a trophy to be won for the worst referee performance of a tournament that I have not heard of?
Couldn't agree more on that. Yellow card, more a maybe than a yes

if it can calm you and the others, I can tell you that this judges can forget everything about being allowed to judge the next FIFA World Cup matches, Qualification matches etc.

There is actually some head judge and check how the judge carries out his work in the field

Like anyone cares what the Spanish think. They go home at the same time as Australia so their comment, however accurate are irrelevant. They just want to make themselves feel better after being embarrased out of the cup through their own arrogance.

Well UKers, since your team's not on the telly anymore, I found something for you to watch instead.

No, it's not Geordie Shore.

At the next tournament they will again bring amateurs and dilettantes because they think that every football dwarf nation on this planet must be represented by an amateur referee, and that this is more important than professionalism and experience, competence and a sense for sportsmanship and fairness with regrd to the teams, payers, scorecards and the sport in general. This philosophy is designed to produce failing choices.

I say different. I say kick that,m and bring profis to the tournament that by their competence do justice t o the scqale of the event'S importance in its sport. It is not about referees, or bureaucrats of FIFA. It is about the sports, the audience and those athletes carrying out the match.

But FIFA is such a corrupted crime organisation by now, a club of dirt and garbage, making money at the cost of hosting nations and its people only . To hell with it. Add the betting mafia to it, and you can understand people quitting the interest for the sports completely.

Hang on a minute.
You don't think it was red card?
If you are referring to the Marchisio sending off, then the Mexican referee was spot on.
The challenge was impudent. Planting his studs into Arevalo Rios
was a red card through and through.

Sprigs up:

If you are referring to Suarez chomping on Chiellini and not receiving a red card, there was inconclusive evidence at the time. Note i said 'at the time'. If one thinks Chiellini pulling his shirt to the side and claiming being bitten and replays with obstructed views of the incident inconclusive, then what is the ref meant to do?
It's easy for us armchair 'sports stars' to judge an incident.
I will admit it looked suspicious, FIFA has already committed to a full investigation and Suarez if found guilty, could face a 2 year ban.

This is not the first time for Suárez, nor even the second. His chomp on Branislav Ivanovic’s forearm while playing for Liverpool against Chelsea at Anfield in April 2013 earned him a 10-game suspension. Dutch authorities were slightly more lenient, banning him for only seven games after he bit PSV Eindhoven’s Otman Bakkal back in 2010.

Hard to tell from that:

I can foresee a time in the not too distant future where the referee will have access to instant replay via multiple camera angles at the touch of a button or vocal command. Either via a wrist screen or glasses, adjudicators at each side of the pitch would monitor and notify the referee of potential rule breeches and send him (or her) a clip for confirmation, the referee would then award the relevant colour card for the transgression.
As it is, too much is left on the eyes of one man at ground level. We have the technology, let's bring it in, in the interest of fair play. Would also help to cut down on this stupid fake diving nonsense too.

Agreed.
I think the other issue is lack of consistency from the officials.
For instance back as far as world cup 2006 but certainly 2010 FIFA was claiming it would clamp down on diving and general bad sportsmanship.
Thye did that, giving out yellows and reds like colourful candy at a show ride.

This world cup, there has been numerous acts of...well, bad acting, diving with absolutely no contact made to said player, rolling around after the fall, players stalling for time, holding their foot or ankle when in fact player's other foot was contacted, or worse, not at all....and so forth.

It has been anything but consistency in regulating and punishing those few that take advantage of being able to get away with unsportsmanlike behaviour.
Bugs me, because it is tainting the 'beautiful game'.

I think one of the big problems with FIFA is that it's not capable of regulating itself, let alone the behaviour of football players on the pitch. The top brass needs a good shake-up and someone needs to prise the steering wheel from Blatters hands...dangling a wad of money in front of him should distract him long enough.
