Dowly, you n00b! :rotfl: I survived my first Scapa raid in GWX. I have been there a couple of times in GW, though. (And I got killed shortly after leaving, but I survived Scapa :rotfl

I've been doing some focused testing so i can't answer as to how often the weather changes, but i can tell you that lack of weather changing is, generally speaking a stock bug. Every X amount of time, the weather has a *Chance* to change. Everytime you reload a saved game the clock that keeps track of the weather change chance to occur is reset. That said, in GWX foul weather causing a rough sea state is advantagous to you in terms of detection or evasion. You should acutally be afraid of a clear calm day if about to execute an attack, as clear and calm are perfect sonar conditions.
So is this to say that weather actually WILL play a part in DD detection capabilites?? Unlike the stock SH3 where waves seemed to make little difference?

That's one option. Or you can remove the Gramaphone folder altogether and then replace it once GWX is installed.

2) My grammaphone ALWAYS skips... has there ever been a fix to this? I did try converting all my song files to .ogg and the result was it still skips.
I converted all mine to .wav and have had no problems.
Humm thats funny...back a year or so ago everyone was saying to convert them to .ogg files to avoid the skipping.

Now that I look at it ... half my files I converted to .ogg and the other half are MP3s. Are MP3s the same as .wav? If I remember right MP3s are more compressed versions of .wav files....

That should be a nice touch. Execept of course, when the crew spews on the deck, Bernard slip on it and grabbs the blow bast valve for support.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Damn, It now actually makes you feel as if you have accomplished something and helping out the war effort
It makes you think, sweat, grit your teeth ( impending DC ) makes you shout out aloud Either B***ard you sank me or F**king eat torpedo you lil Sh*t, makes you throw your fist in the air, makes you sea sick while sitting nice and still in your room.makes you exhusted after feeling a rainbow of emotions. But mainly it reminds you WHY you bought SH3 in the first place.
Outstand effort and achivement guys, kudos.

But embarrassingly makes your wife look at you as if you're insane.

Don't want to comment too much until I am able get more into it. Saying GWX is "sh3.5" is right on the money.

Good news for the guys with the systems pushing the low end specs---The performance due to packaging and tweaks seems to actually be a better. (I've only got 512 ram)--so If you could run GW1.1A you should have no problem with GWX even though It's content far exceeds the first GW incarnation

And for you guys that like using the IIA and the kiel canal--the dev team has listened to your issues with it and have made it easier for you to decide to sail it

Don't want to say too much so as not too reveal anything before it's time--and besides the dev team might decide too keelhaul me if I stay here posting instead of testing.

Oh I'd actually say that it runs a bit better than 1.1a. In the middle of Kiel at the beginning of my first GWX patrol with all the new stuff and airplanes flying around I noticed it run smoother leaving than before. Not a HUGE leap in FPS but a noticeable one.

GWX is definately low end friendly.

Earlier someone said "SH3 + GWX = SH3.99". I'm just wondering about that.....I'm sure we'll all go out and buy SHIV, but surely GWX is going to give SHIV (as it comes, out of the box) more than a run for it's money. Won't Ubi be concerned about the effect on SHIV sales - because once word gets around about GWX, people who don't have currently have SH3 but see that SHIV is out, will be likely to go and buy cheap old SH3 and then DL GWX - rather than buy SHIV.

How about SH3 + GWX = SH4.2 > SHIV?

If mass sites like GameSpot and Gamespy etc are honest about it, they might come to this sort of conclusion.

Gamespot is full of arseholes that don't know a good game from a rotten cheeseburger. They pander to the CoD games. SH4 won't likely stir much up. Plus Gamespot doesn't usually talk about mods that are free. Though Gamespy has done a bit on GW.

The other thing is that I figure SH4 will have everyone interested just because there are a number of Silent Service fans here. Some blokes like U-boats and some like Tokyo Rose. SH4 will get people intersted I'm sure. But I know I'll likely like GWX more than SH4 just because I dig U-boats too much. And I like playing as the bad guys. Being an American is soooo boring in terms of computer gaming.

My bit.
