The need to concentrate on debugging and streamling code instead of trying to be the the game that crammed the most eye-candy that will BSOD or crash.
I agree, but with your system specs you shouldn't have problems with BF2 or Fear, hell my cpu is lower than yours and i dont get bsod playing those games. Upgrade to 1gig of ram and if you still get bsod, you possibly got a heating problem.
You should never get a BSOD, in any case, due to flaws in a user level program like a game. If the hardware isn't good enough, it can run slower or not at all, if it has bugs it may crash, but it should never take the OS with it. A BSOD may indicate bas OS programming, bad driver programming, or faulty hardware. Of course, current quality standards being what they are, those things would be expected.

Also Overclocking your CPU will give BSOD if clocked to high or not clocked properly.

But anyways a patch for Oblivion is in the making for the PC and 360.

1200 mods and counting for this game. Damn, they do work fast. The TES Construction Kit helps I suppose.
