Some tasty Oblivion screens and thoughts.
Well, considering how badly swamped the official Oblivion forums are, I thought I'd post these here. If I posted them there, they'd be on page 3 before I even hit the submit button.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...creenShot2.jpg http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...creenShot1.jpg I especially liked the second one. It was a great view from that rock by the lighthouse in Anvil. I actually had to turn off AA to take them, for some reason. The game won't do screenshots with it turned on. Too bad I can't actually play the game with this much detail. It utterly kicks my system's ass and comes back for more. Definately some of the best graphics I've seen in a game before. The code is pretty tight, so it's not shoddy programming to blame. The game is just that demanding. Anyway, enjoy :) |
yes, the detail is brilliant in this game. Me to can't play it on high detail and im running a 6800gt 256ram! Need something like two 7800GT in SLI mode.

I refuse to touch this game, just like I didn't ever touch Morrowind!
Because I know for a fact that the moment I start playing it will be the end of my life and career  |

And for Gods sake stay away from Eve.

Not getting this one soon, I'll need a better graphics card first. But Galciv2 and a few (well, dozens) older unfinished games should keep me busy. Still have to finish Morrowind anyway... :P
I do notice that they render to a low-resolution texture for the water reflection effect. |

i just yearn for the day i can install it on my main rig. |
These ever increasing harware requirements are getting totally out of control!!! I have an AthlonXP 3200, 512 RAM, 6800 Ultra and I can hardly play FEAR, Battlefield 2, or even NFS Most Wanted! :damn: :damn: :damn: :damn:
The need to concentrate on debugging and streamling code instead of trying to be the the game that crammed the most eye-candy that will BSOD or crash. :nope: :dead: |

Look at this way, in a few years, you'll be to revisit all these games and they'll seem completely different with all the eye-candy! :) |

Later this year comes Gothic III and the eye-candy will jump up again
