I salute you for your courage to try, knowing beforehand that your condition might give you trouble.

I have rheumatism on my knees (I´ve had it for 8-9 years now). Before the service, my knees were good, it didnt hurt or anything. The doctor said that it would be better for me to serve in the "B" group, but I wanted to serve in A group.

Welcome back.
I just recently had Synvisc shot into my left knee. It replaces the fluid that used to be there. Fantastic stuff, make from chicken combs, no kidding. See your Dr. No more pain for at least 6 months.
I do not work for or am I associated with Synvisc. Just a satisfied old guy with very bad knees.

It´s not about how tall you are (well 199cm might be little to tall), but it is about the lenght of your legs especially from knee up. In emergency situation when in need to pull the rocket chair and exit the plane it wouldn´t be that nice to leave you legs behind from knee down after cramming them under the cockpit instruments etc.

yesterday I made a visit to my "civilian" doctor, she said that there´s not any extra fluids inside the knee, but instead around the knee, in the tissue. She said that the pain will go away with rest and painkillers.

YEAH RIGHT!

I´ve been resting for the whole week and eating so many painkillers that they start to pop out from my ears! The pain is worst when I sit even for a 5 minutes and then start to walk. I have ~2h train trip ahead of me. It´ll kill me!

I keep you guys posted on my situation!

Take care!

Did you ask them for a second chance or was that standard procedure?

It was standard procedure in this case. As my knees wouldn´t carry me through the easier service (Class B) atm.

Really sorry to hear. That lying down in the range must of did that. Im what brach of the army did you want to serve? Im sure there is something you can do that doesnt involve lying in the cold ground.

I dont think it was the laying, but the marching.

But know my knees are "ok" again. I went to see different doc and she took the extra fluids out. 12ml from the right knee and 4ml from left.

I think she hit the needle to my bone or something as it felt like my knee was on fire from inside. Never happened before.

No changes for me to be an AT-soldier...

Well, this is something that I can´t do nothing about, just take the drugs they give me and hope for the best.

hey, arent you in Karelian Brigade? You got armor there, if you get good points otherwise you could stay in A grade and be a tanker.

Oh, its a small garrison. But i guess they have PASI, even tough they mainly use NASU. Mortar company could be for you, it looked cool when i watched them a couple of times, if you don want to drive anything. That ofcourse debends on how bad the knees are.
