Really, who wants to play with orange colors (i prefer the red of the akulas or the green of the los angeles). Orange gives me a headache :rotfl:, notwithstanding the fact that you have to press twice as much buttons to achieve the same thing as on the other subs. |

![]() I've always wondered about that too... ![]() I suppose it makes things less cluttered in a way... and that's really only for the sonar, as I do find the Fire Control Station pretty functional, I feel like I have more control over my weapons and countermeasures there. But then again, I don't know how people play with Mk48's and TASM's. ![]() ![]() I feel like I'm bring a knife to a gunfight. :hmm:

Los Angles class. 688i gives you great flexibility in missions without being rediculously decked out like Sea Wolf. Its a great American workhorse and well rounded.

FFG-7 rules
![]() If there was a western diesel (prefferably collins) then perhaps it would have some competition, cause the kilo sucks. |

688(i) (aka 751 class). At least until a Cold War mod comes out with a 637 class platform.

I picked the Akula, mainly because of the Russian sound mod. In a month, I'd be able to count 0-9 in Russian

I'm surprised more people here don't prefer the MH-60 helo. I can see why alot of people here like the P-3 as an air ASW asset. But MH-60 has it's own advantages. The ASW mission from the MH-60 is slower and more careful. You don't carry alot of sonobouys or weapons, so you have to be more skillful in localizing a target for prosecution. The good thing is you can hover and have a dipping sonar. Using this in conjunction with 2 sonobouys is useful for contact triangulation. MAD passes seem more controlled. I've found hunting submarines in the MH-60 to be quite enjoyable.
Overall, the P-3 is a better and more flexible ASW asset, but MH-60 still is quite useful in this role. But still: 1. Seawolf (Sometimes FFG-7 rotates into #1) 2. FFG-7 (Sometimes Seawolf rotates into #2) 3. MH-60 Sea Demon |
