I don't use high res textures for my ships any more so it looks hazy up close, otherwise my display is clean, AFAIK.

I am wondering why it matters who made the mod. Seems odd considering this is a site to aid the SH3 community. Is there a dues I need to pay to join the club I mssed out on? LOL

I noticed a major reduction in performance myself when taking care of a convoy with the deck gun. Many decals on numerous ships and such. Altho it seems to me that each decal is not an individual texture but the damage texture is mapped to cover large parts of the ship's hull and each hit reveals more of the total texture. Bits at a time as it were.

I tried it ingame and it was great. You really get the impression that your weapons are tearing holes in the ships, especially with the larger damage decals. Nice work .

Glad you like it! I have darkened it a bit and increased the contrast in the alpha channel so it shows up more clearly than the pics indicate. I will let you know when it's ready for DL.

All set. I ULed V2 this Thursday, should be ready for DL in a day or so. I will keep it a separate mod for the modem users and those picky buggers

Enjoy ripping your enemies to shreds! And keep the feedback coming in!

Totenkopf:
Do I get the impression from what you said that your damage mod will have LESS effect on our FPS than the standard damage transparancies in RUb and IUB ???

It is a real bugger to watch your FPS drop to single digits when large explosions or sea battles occur like the Bismarck and I hope your damage mod will help in that matter.

Yeah, saddly the texture will hit FPS more than R/IUB, not sure how I gave that impresson Ah well. I just made it to look like you are rending metal so you can experience sordid glee, I do

I have noticed that all decals are removed from a sinking ship, also its sub components explode as she goes down. I presume this is to simplify the model so your frame rate is saved from overload of all the hulks you leave in your wake. Too bad realy, but beggers can't be choosers.

Mind you, it should not be too bad in a convoy unless you have picked off the escorts and are now blasting helter-skelter with your deck gun. :rotfl:
