If it´s off you can start both programms.
Strange, but that´s how it works at my sys.
You can tell the newbie for sure, he is the one with the foot in his mouth.

If I don’t know what I am talking about, I apologize. Admittedly, I am very new to SH3 and this board, and especially I don’t know much about the resolution mod, but I am wiling to learn.

How many people here use the res mod? What ATI drivers are known to work with it? ..or not?

I discovered the problem with tray tools also.

I am now trying to get the res mod to work for me but have not yet had sucess.

Well, I now have the RES Mod working with the Catalyst 5.9 drivers.

As noted, you must close the ATI Tray Tools before launching SH3.

As far as I know it doesn´t work with the old panel. But ATT is a complete replacement for the CCC and the old Control Panel, you don´t need them anymore.
You do not need CCC.

In fact, I can't STAND that bloatware CCC - and it's fine, as ATT really serves as a total replacement. You can, in fact, download just the "driver only" package from ATI - no Control Panel OR Catalyst Control Center - and with ATT in the task try, be good to go!

Not really - besides, ATT in the task tray brings all kinds of cool features to the table. Different 2d and 3d clocks, for one! And adjustable fan speeds, as well!

Anyway, the on-screen display it uses (OSD) is the cause of the problem.

Right-click the ATT task tray icon, selects 'Tools & Options'->'OSD'. Uncheck "Enable OnScreen Display" - the rest of the fields on the page should then grey out. Hit [OK], and you are good to go!

Good catch!

Hopefully Ray can fix that feature for us, but at least we are good to go with OSD disabled.

WOW - I downloaded and tried out this ATT thing yesterday - just made it back to port last night and things really are looking great with this adaptive AA turned on - took me a couple of tries to get it right (didn't realize you had to check or uncheck the box about the support for it, and then go back in and check the box again to actually turn it on, but stuff really is looking good now on my X800XL.

There was some odd-looking jaggedness on the "X" bracings of the towers holding up the dock cranes for some reason when viewed through the binoculars (Ok, so I was checking out the nurses while leaving port - gonna be a long time till we see any women again, after all) - I don't remember those crane towers looking like that before and I'm not sure where that comes from, but everything else is looking real good.

I'm just running 1024x768 (tried the higher rez fix a while back and got it working but I didn't much like the exaggerated sun glare/bloom effect I was getting with it for some reason, so I went back to just 1024x768) so I didn't have the high-rez problems some folks seemed to be having, but it looks like that's been sorted out above anyway. Can't wait to see what this ATT thing does for IL-2/FB

I was finally able to install the ATI Tray Toolbar (THANK YOU GUYS!!!!!!) and to have it working with the Sartori fix.
Unfortunately when I load a current campaign everything looks really nice but I'm hearing a strange "noise", expecially if I use the external view..it is like an alarm cock noise.
Anyway, I dasabled the Adaptive AA, but the problem persisted.
Unistalled the ATI Tray Toolbar, and everything is fine again.
So it is a problem, for me, with the ATI Toolbar.
Anybody else experienced this?

Start it, right-click on the ATT system tray icon, select Tweaks/Advanced Tweaks, and unselect "No Support for Adaptive AA" under Additional Tweaks. Apply the change and reboot the PC.

Oh, please don't kill me for asking but does anyone have a complete procedure as to what to download, what to install and what to enable/disable to make it work? I have the 5.9 and things are okay. I have a dell 2005 wide screen monitor and finally got SH3 to work on it right. If I have 5.9 do I need to do anything at all? The resolution for my monitor seems to mess up the ATI control panel and I can't read everything in it. Thanks!

Hi all,

Yes, this is a great tweak. Unfortunately, I feel the performance hit is too great in FS2004

But it has brought on a slight problem in SH3: The sun has become big and ugly! Maybe that's the thing call 'bloom'. Well, I hate it and I wonder why I didn't see it the first time I sailed with AAA ON. Either I didn't look at the sun, or I did a wrong keypress - wasn't there something with shig+pgup/pgdn and/or ctrl+p?

Have any of you guys seen the same?

Yeah - on my X800XL the sun is borderline too big/bloomy, at least some of the times, but it was that way even before I activated the adaptive AA thing - I didn't notice any difference though from this latest tweak - it's always been that way with this card
