Hello Catfish,

are you ati-user?
if so try adjusting your gamma in the your video card settings.
A value of 1.35 works very well for me.
Default 3d gamma is to low on ati cards.

It's really easy with the Catalyst Control Center to make yourself a profile with increased gamma and one profile with normal gamma.

Whenever I launch SH3 I always change the profile to get the increased gamma. You can even make yourself a profile for playing during the day (your day, not SH3's day!!) and one for the night. I'd say a gamma of 1.35~1.4 for playing in the dark is good and maybe 1.45~1.5 for playing in a brighter environment.

And the nice thing with the profiles is you can have a shortcut on the desktop to activate it! (you can even give it the option to launch sh3 for you whenever you activate that profile!!)

Check this out, it's worth trying!

Hello,
thanks all, i've made two profiles (day and night) to adapt, only changing the gamma correction a bit - works great.
Thanks all for your tips,
good hunting,
greetings,
Catfish

I to can't see jack in the dark, if it wasn't for the interface bar someone could think that I turned of my monitor...

I now use Powerstrip to change the gamma ingame because he daytime gamma is OK, only at night I have to up the gamma 5 times.. :hmm:

I have an ATI card btw.

I have an Nvidia and no problems, assuming I close the curtains.

It could be your monitor is burning out.

I have the same problem. I don't know if its my graphic cards, or the CRT moniters I have but it seems almost every game that is somewhat dark, its VERY DARK on my computer. I have the brightness on my moniter (ViewSonic A72f) to the max and I have the brightness for my Nvidia Gefore FX 5200 as high as I want to set it. If it wasnt for those settings even games that have shadowing would be almost unplayable. Every game that has a gamma setting I have to increse that to the max to make the games look somewhat normal. If I ajust my video cards brightness any higher my start bar on windows will be glowing white and ugly

To bad SH3 dosent have a gamma setting...
