Do I need a TV licence to watch Freeview?
Posted March 25, 2013 - About Freeview

Yes. The annual television licence is required for television reception by all viewers of broadcast television in the UK. It must be purchased by anyone who has and uses the appropriate equipment to receive television signals independent of which TV service is used.

Freeview channels can be received at no charge at the point of delivery.

Thing is Fox isn't the only news broadcaster we have. For free I also get several flavors each of ABC CBS NBC PBS CNN HLN and the BBC too, not to mention local broadcasters like NECN. None of them I would want as my only TV news.

They are no different to a very many more employed people across the UK no doubt.
