It's turning into aisle 3. This is our chance to head down aisle 7 and cut it off when it comes out.

Actually, that's not a bad idea. I think either Fluckey's book, or one of O'Kane's books would make excellent material for a movie. Maybe, we could take up a collection, and send a book or two out. It could pay big dividends, if we pick the right people.

On a side note, I started watching VICTORY AT SEA, on DVD. I noticed in some of the footage, they used US subs, whilereferringg to U-boats. I never would have noticed these things before I started playing SH.

War in the Boats: My WW2 Submarine Battles would be a perfect miniseries.

The next HBO series has already been announced a while back. It's going to be based off of Masters of the Air. An ETO Air War miniseries. I'm pretty excited.

Is this one of the Silent Service series that's been mentioned?

No. That's some raw footage from the war. Silent Service was black & white. Each episode illustrated an actual submarine patrol, introduced by Admiral Dykers and starring little-known actors portraying the real people. I've seen the Archerfish vs Shinano episode, which starred DeForrest Kelley as Joe Enright.

Here is five minutes of the episode in which USS Spearfish helped with the evacuation of some nurses from Corrigedor, also starring Kelley.

Picked it up myself. Not the worst movie I've ever seen. The usual conflict between those in authority gets very old. That's why Das Boot is so enjoyable.....the crew is all working together with a minimum of conflict. However, I thought the acting was right on and with a few exceptions the plot very believable. Waited a long time for this one to come out.

Hi everyone, my apologies. I haven't posted for quite a while.
