I have TDW's FX update enabled (JSCONES Mod Enabler). I have not yet seen a flare go up from any ship.

Is there a way to tell if the mod is actually working

BTW I'm 53

Sorry Bill, I don't know enough yet to advise. Hopefully someone will jump in.

I thought Falcon 4 was hard but it's nothing compared to knowing all the ins & outs of SH5 and the mods.
