I never went to college, yet I'm capable of playing such game. Anyone can hate anything yes but from what I understand you don't hate it, you are simply highly frustrated as you are unable to play it.

SH5 has many flaws but shooting torpedos ain't one of them. How are your realism settings? Are you using Manual TDC? If so, than everything is explained, simply uncheck that option.
