As I approached the convoy, the trailing Destroyer escort picked me up and was at full steam to my boat. Shot off 2 Eels at him head on and sunk him (boat 1), then the other escort from the front of the convoy came full steam at me. To my surprise, it was a armed trawler, no depth charges on board. He steamed over my head without detecting me and I lined up the Aft tube and sank him (boat 2). Then went crazy on the convoy. Caught up with the convoy, sank a Coastal Merchant (boat 3), T2 Tanker (boat 4), surfaced the boat and sank another T2 Tanker with torpedoes and a C2 Cargo with the deck gun (boats 5 and 6). While torpedoes were reloading, sank another Small Merchant with the deck gun (boat 7). Remaining forward torpedoes reloaded, took out another T2 Tanker (boat 8). Now out of forward torpedoes, out of 88 mm AP rounds, with on lone Aft torpedo left, lined up on the last big ship, a C2 Cargo and sent her to the bottom (boat 9). In total, on one patrol, 51,615 tons of English junk sent to the bottom.

These two patrols along with several other have now put me right behind Gunther Prien on my "Aces" list. He has 168K tons to my 138K tons. Yar!
Well, if you are going to waste three torpedoes in stock on a DD and a trawler, you are quite right to think 51K a good patrol.

Ah, I misread. You have been lurking for years. Not playing. My bad.

Just had a good patrol
Type IID, 86% realism, NYGM MaGui
11,121 Tons, all British
AN14 I believe, right off the north end of Scapa...

Just hung tight in the E-W shipping lane, lined 'em up, and shot from the hip
only two were taken out by the Weapons Officer (I missed two of my shots, got bothered, and told the weps to take care of it ) ...wait, no, i just shot the one merchant twice cause I'd had bad luck taking down C2's... even better, only one shot by the weps!

Can't seem to let go of the other 14%... I like my WEPS, my event cam, and i hate a bobbing peri... maybe I'll let go of the periscope...

First thing to go is the peri.
Next goes the event cam.
Neither of those should cause you any discomfort.

Keep the WEPS until you think he's taught you enough.
That one will be a big move.
That's a giant step that only you can decide when/if you are ready to take.
Without WEPS "it's a whole new game".

The event cam is the first thing I scratch of the list in any career. It doesn't add anything for me and I don't miss it. However, I always keep my free cam. Especially since I installed high res fix and MEP environment. I want to enjoy the graphics of the game too! I like being able to watch my targets go down.

Although I've never used free cam I am grateful for those that do because, it's the only way I get to see screenshots of all that I'm missing.
