Ah the VW bus. Insanely boring and difficult. Did manage to Gold that one though. After many efforts, it comes down to luck. The only way to even be in with a chance is by drafting the entire field but even then it falls to the position of 2nd & 3rd places to give you the jump for 1st.

Still haven't passed the Elise challenge. It's probably the hardest special event in the entire game. Even Nuremburg in the rain is easier.

Have just started my Christmas holidays so am making the most of the time to get some serious game play time in.

Played for a few hours earlier.
Now up to 15 A spec and 10 B spec.
Got Gold on all events in Beginner in both A and B spec.

i'm quite surprised i managed to get gold in A spec Beginner and Ameteur, Only done 2 races in B spec, though ended up with gold in them too The licenses and challenges however... bronze, bronze, bronze, bronze, bron...

Have only done one licence so far the National B got gold on all of them but.
Fark me B6 and 7 were so hard to gold. Might be that i am using a DS3 and not a wheel.

Does anyone have a Pick up i could borrow to do the Pick up races with on the Amateur races?

Haven't had time to play lately.

Mostly because I haven't moved my Ps3 over to my new room yet.

But I find the Nascar challenges, and the cars to be a pain in the ass to drive, at least on a controller.

Mostly I just keep replaying the A-spec tournaments to a mass a small fortune. Just recently bought a 2010 Mustang V8, working on getting it tuned up.

Sorry mate I'm afraid I sold my RAM 1500 after them races, it sucked but got the job done lol. Rather ironcially you win a Ford F150 for completing it

Had a bash at the GT Rally challenges last night.
Passed the Beginner challenges with Gold. But the Intimidate challenges are proving a lot tougher though. Just need to find the right car and set-up.

So what Special Challenges has everyone done?

I have completed the Go-Karting with gold
Got gold on the Samba Bus on the Top Gear challenges but have not even tried the Lotus challenge.
Other than that i have just got sliver on all the beginner challenges on the Ring.
Got to say though you get lots of Cr and XP for doing the Special challenges.

Release Notes:

A new update has been released for Gran Turismo 5.
The main contents of the update are as follows:

・Seasonal Events
[Seasonal Events] have been added to the [GT Mode] - [GT Life] screen. From here you can participate in official online events from the Polyphony Digital team.
In these events, all participants are under the same regulations, and if you complete the event you will win rewards and experience. Compete on the leader boards with players around the world, in Time Trials and Drift Trials!

・Online Collector's Dealership
An [Online Collector's Dealership] has been added to the left and centre of the [GT Mode]-[GT Life] screen. In here you will find popular and rare cars.
You might just come across that one car you’ve always been looking for, that you haven’t been able to find in the [Used Car Dealership]

・Online Race Rewards and Experience
When you complete a race in the [Open Lobby] or [My Lounge], you will now gain rewards and experience points.
Even if you are focused more on playing online, you’ll still be able to gain rewards and levels that you need to progress in [GT Life].

・Driving Distance and Number of Wins in Online Races
The driving distance and the number of wins you achieve when you complete a race in [Open Lobby] or [My Lounge] will now affect your stats in [Profile] and the [Garage].
Here the results from your online play will cumulate within [GT Life].

・Improved Rewards
The rewards for winning races in both A-Spec and B-Spec in [GT Mode]-[GT Life] have been increased for a limited time only. (This applies until the end of January 2011)
This is a great chance for those who were previously having difficulties getting ahead in the game, due to a lack of funds for tuning and purchasing required cars.

・Race Information Display
It is now possible to set the [Race Info Display] in [Start]-[Quick Options]. (You can also set this in [Race Display] in [Options]).

・Save Data Backup
You can now copy and restore your save data. For details, please refer to the in-game [Manual].

・User BGM (Menu)
From [Options]-[Hardware]-[Audio Settings], it is now possible to set the [User BGM] (Menu)]. (This can also be set from the [Music Library] within [GT Mode]).

・Car Name Change
The official name of "Red Bull X1" has been changed to the "Red Bull X2010".

・Integration with the Website
The main features within [GT Mode]-[Community] can now also be accessed through the "gran-turismo.com" official website.

[Important Note:]
* We have made improvements to the [Log] within [GT Mode]- [Community] section, in order to make its operation more stable. Please note that the information that was contained here from before the update has been reset.

* Some contents of the update will not be applied unless you sign in to the PlayStation®Network when you play the game

Woohooo.
This game just gets better and better.
The support this game has had since release has been great, many other developers could learn a thing from PD. Long may the up dates continue to come and be as good.

Oh Dan am only half a million Cr and 2 levels, away from getting the Formula GT.
As it is in the new rare car dealership for 4.8m
Was going to say if i get the Formula GT first i can send it over to you when im finished with the races.
