If it's California, I imagine it would have something to do with the pssing contest between the Mexican flag wavers and the American flag wavers that always heats up during 4th of July and Cinco de Mayo. The school district probably (and thoughtlessly) put a blanket ban on flags of any kind on campus.

That is what I thought. Like I said, my kids say the pledge everyday. In some states or counties I do not understand why some do what they do. Mookie has a good answer for this one incident. See above.
