School kid told to take American flag off his bike !
Quote:
When I grew up they had a flag in every classroom and every morning we pledged our allegance to that flag. Were so screwed :nope: http://www.fox40.com/news/headlines/...5879.htmlstory |
You're overusing the flag anyways. :O:
|
what?
the flag offends people now? |
They're afraid the flag might raise racial tensions? That's just weird. The policy is weird. The whole thing is weird.
On the the other hand, since we're talking about schools... Quote:

This is one of those things that makes me wonder just how many screws have come loose in our society. We better keep our wits about us if we're to survive the coming Dark Ages. :-?

I must say this is the one thing of which I much prefer the US way of doing things than the European way.
Here in Europe freedom of speech only goes for the minorities. I'm damn sure I can take a Moroccan or Turkish flag anywhere I want, but put up a Dutch flag and you're in trouble. I can curse jesus christ himself to hell and nobody cares (neither would I), but say anything derogatory about Mohammad in public and you've both got the local muslim street gangs and the law enforcement agencies on your back. Damn, a few years ago some school with a majority of Dutch students even tried to abolish Christmas activities in favor of Ramadan, because the Muslim minority found christmas offending:nope: |
