Everything is just not about China, and they Asian neighbors, but some of the criticism has come forward and as we draw conclusion on that only one party's fault, and it is completely wrong, you have to put its own house first and plan then in all the different paths, one for how it is there are good opportunities to achieve balance in all of the advice as long as there is interest in a broad and straight communication

Its interesting that no one has started a thread about the growing tensions between China and Japan.
They are in a point that someone would loose face in backing down and neither is likely to be the one.

The absence of land border lowers the possibilty of naval clashes to happen.
This crisis could be the point that pushes Japan to join the armaments race in Asia, mainly building up naval and nuclear capability.

Back to the OP, China has a major strategic interest in Central Asia: Oil.

Now that it is a net oil importer, China has been looking to obtain secure supply sources. The Middle East was wrapped up by the US a long time ago and China has been playing catch up.

Over the past several years, China has invested heavily In Kazakhstan to obtain access to its Oil resrves and the Caspian Oil reserves.

Russia considers Central Asia its turf and sent a obvious message to the US with the 2008 Georgia war that outside interference would not be tolerated. However, so far Russia has not confronted China over its increasing influence in the region.

Some articles, if anyone is interested in the geopolitics of the region:

http://www.sras.org/geopolitics_of_o...n_central_asia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kazakhs...a_oil_pipeline

I see this military exercise as a message by China of its increasing influence in the region.

China has made great investements to improve ties with oil-delivering Iran. They will not strike Iran and it's reactor(s). Not now and not in the forseeable future. In fact China is one of the greatest defenders of Iran against the West. They also love to see the West agonising over Iran. They will not help to give the West relief from that - it would be against their own national interest.

Cchina and a nuclear armed Iran go very well together. The alliance also is directed against India (and it'S need for oil), which seems to set to overtake china sooner or later (sounds strange, I know, but there are indices implying that).

The biggest threat is not China, on paper it may appear that China and Iran are partners. But China must protect its own house first and white appropriate measures to prevent the West may be an advantage in that Region. But Bilge Rat quote so of course play the part in oil phase is a center of power
