No, I have no problem with curse words or seeing them, or as my friends will attest - using them.

But, at the risk of sounding pedantic:

Please use language that you would use around your mother. No vulgarities, obscenities, hate speech, or foul language. Do not use *******ing w*rds with aster*cks, that's the same thing as vulgar languge. Express yourself with respect to others.

I agree, i too, am not offended with vulgarity or overall general naughtiness, but the rules are the rules.

ps-I can't help but to find your quote of the *** editing issue a bit ironic, even though you've done the same with your sig. not trying to start anything or be disrespectful to anyone in any manner, merely making an observation

Rules were meant to be broken! If people stopped breaking rules then there would be a lot of people out of work and the bad guys would starve. Just think of all the cops and correctional officers out there that pay taxes to house, feed, and medicate the offenders they work so hard to apprehend and detain! Those poor bad guys would go hungry for God's sake!

I mean, we've got to support the United Socialist States of America (USSA), am I right? I mean, Herr Obama would be disappointed if the big bad policeman stopped an "illegal" immigrant and asked him for some bloody identification! I mean sheesh, we're only supposed to be IDing US citizens after all! Every cop has built-in nationality radar didn't you know?! How dare a cop do such a thing to an "illegal" immigrant on his way to a dope house!

And you think Herr Obama would approve of punishing those that use profanity? Get real! He encourages that too. He said, "I want to know whose a.s.s. to kick" on national television with Matt Lauer for every man, woman, and child in the world to hear! The great one can't be wrong and thinks the only people who need any punishment or restraint are those that enforce rules and regulations!

I'm a cop, so I would know. I used to do my job (the way you used to expect me to) but now that's a bad thing so I don't. Drive through my 65 m.p.h zone at 100+mph and see if I stop you. Not gonna happen. I want to keep my job after all. Times are tough and jobs are scarce! I'm going to just sit there and eat my jelly donuts, drink my coffee, and play a few rounds of Doodle Jump on my Iphone instead. Call me to respond to a domestic scene and I will be 5-0... Meaning I will be about 50 minutes late, so stay strong little lady. I don't want to get there early because I might have a brain fart and resort to my old ways and get slapped with a police brutality suit when I light your abusive "illegal" immigrant boyfriend up like a Christmas tree with 100,00 volts of government issued light saber! Just don't be crazy like 90% of the women out there and stab me in the Kevlar when I'm putting your hot tamale in the back of my patrol car! Otherwise I will light you up as well and yes, you're gonna have a bad hair day!

Anyways, I think it's unethical for y'all to be asking Neal and the mods on here to do any enforcing. Learn to be forgiving and accepting of those who break "the old rules". It's going to take time for the rules to be changed but count on Obama making that a priority once he's done robbing the wealthy and the poor of all their money first. Hes loves to break the rules and what fun would that be if he already had the rules taken away?

You might be right. Maybe I finally should look in the discount bins for SHIV. But then my other side tells me to stay away from it -- too many bugs etc. The title just brings up negative headlines in my mind. They screwed up the start badly, and it is engraved as a warning. And there is no 2nd first start. But I'll keep an eye open -- afterall it would be perfect strategy to buy a discount SHIV and download all the finished mods, while waiting on someone to "treat" SHV to perfection (if that is still possible and going to happen) and the DRM to be gone.

But since the day this "sim" came out i and many other hardcore players have been finding a way to turn it into the thing we really wanted it to be in the first place. But for about a month now i,ve been pumping mods into sh-5 and it does work to some extent. But i just cant help it to find myself passing some sh-5 time for other good sims simply because it does not feel complete and unfinished. Sure we have all these mods but it takes such a massive s.h.i.tload of mods to make it into the sim i want it to be that i get CTD,s now. I cant blame the modders because they are doing some amazing work out there. For example i finally configured sh-5 into what i would call "close to sh-3 GWX. But after having 5 CTD,S in minutes i just could not help thinking that i just wasted another 40 minutes and i didnt even get near my objective zone. I mean when i have to leave port 5 times because of crashes it drains you right out of the pleasure! Its things like this that make me not toucht the game for another 2 to 3 weeks. It just suck the fun right out of the whole immersion and experience! Sure sh-3 and sh-4 had its issues but sh-5 seems to be such a bad programmed peace of software that its almost impossible to be overlooked! I remember when sh-3 was stuffed with mods it crashed on me from time to time but it was acceptable. Now when sh-5 is fully modded it crashed so i make multiple saves to make my way up from there. Then i save and the save itself makes the game crash only to find out that my other failsave,s have dissapeared allong with it. I,m pretty easy with stuff like this normally but i just cant help thinking that i,m seriously loosing my optimism for sh-5. Not because of the gameplay but simply its f.u.c.k.e.d at the core. And when something is f.u.c.k.e.d at the core its pretty much a sinking ship. Not to mention that UBI has waved its a.s.s goodbye and leave the modders to work hard to sort there s.h.i.t out. Thanks ubi! You gone to fat this time!
I know what you mean. It's been like few months since buying SH5, so after these few months I've tried to play and give a chance to this game once again with all these great MODS (respect to you modders). Even with tons of mods there's still big mess. The feeling of "artificial limbs" overwhelms me. Currently i have some issues with surfacing after diving(cant fully surface) and the crew that flickers, suddenly changes poses and turns around when i talk to them. I don't even know if sonarman do anything, he even doesn't warns you when depth charges are in the water.

WTF is wrong with people that have created this game? Can somebody tell what they were thinking? I'm dying of curiousity and it drives me crazy, really i just can't imagine that. Did they play their own game?

There are theories on that. I would be surprised if the devs hadn't played it. What seems to make the best sense to me is that the sim was rushed out the door to meet deadline.

Im sure they did not played this game, there is no way to play this game with stock settings, except.. if u play "dot-style". And I don't think that there were mods available before the official release.

Also, they have a testing department, but there is no way that this game was ever tested... you have to be seriously brain damaged to test this game and not find any bug.

I also lose my optimism, on mod section only TDW mod is being improved and developed, all other mods are abandoned and no new one is surfacing. I so f'ing wanna play this game, but is harder and harder. Only load it for watching the sunrise and the clouds is not enough anymore. I just can't play ancient games, so maybe I should try SH4.. but playing in Pacific with fleet subs.. is weird for me, I dont know if I can manage to do that for more than few hours.

Dan (from the Dev team) told us, soon after the release, that he was embarrassed of how SH5 turned out. Embarrassed or ashamed, I forget exactly which word he used. So what does that mean...
I'll have to go with Krashkart and say they were given a very short amount of time. But did they do the best with that short amount of time, that's a whole other question.
The only good news for us subsimers is that if they ever come out with another SH, there's no way they could make this mistake again (errr right?) I'm hoping for a "it can only get better from here" scenario.
Either way, the more posts I read, the more I'm convinced that not buying SH5 was the best money I ever saved.

Sounds like Dan really wanted something more than what they were able to give us. Probably a safe bet that much of the team feels pretty much the same way.

Yeah, If SHV had had another 8-12 months of development time, it could well have been bloody amazing.
An expansion pack could save it, but that wouldnt be very ethical...
I think we may have to live with what we have as a building block.
Im not playing SHV in current state, ive shelved it until it combomes what it should be.... and Im done with Sh3 & 4.

Well, I still play SH3 w NYGM and SH4 with RFB/RSRD.

I'll get SH5 when it's in "bargain bin", €9.99 or €5.99 etc., IF DRM has been removed then. It should be modded to at least satisfactory level by then (hopefully)
