I will guess that you are typing in the new rez into the .cfg file and then saving them into your game folder. Try a new re-install of the whole game. If you have a career that you dont want to lose, save it from your My Documents\SH3 folder. After that, delete both the game folder AND the SH3 folder found under My Documents.
Re-install the game, re-install GWX and then run the rez mod. |

It's been a while, but I seem to remember that a DOS window opened for a brief instant.
Do you have all five files for the Res Fix in your game folder? d3d9.cfg d3d9.dll SHIII.sdb SP2 Rez fix uninstall.bat SP2 Rez fix.bat IIRC the Readme that came with the version I have only said to copy the last three files into your game folder, but I think it's assuming you already have the first two there. The instructions on the Subsim Downloads page were more clear. |

I dont have the d3d9 files i have to put them in the game folder.
I tried to reinstall everything but still the same problem. Windows says that the program must be closed and i cant load the game (with the 5 res files in the game folder) Maybe a stupid question...how can you be sure of the resolution you are playing in the game? K lets start from the top.
*DL the file zip. *Unzip or unpack them into a place where you can find them later. *Edit the .cfg file and change the rez to what you need. ++If you want to take scree nshots, make sure you change the patch where the screen shots will be saved. You can do this in the same file where you edited the rez. After the .cfg file has been edited, add all the fires form the zip into your game folder. *Run the .bat file. A DOS Promp window will pop up for like .75 seconds. *Change your Desktops resolution to 1020*728 (or the game default) and start the game. *Go back to the desktop and now change your rez to what ever your edited into the .cfg file. *Enjoy SH3 in full screen rez. |

![]() I wonder if anyone's ever tried to figure out if there's a common denominator among those who have problems or those who don't? That mod worked "right out of the box" for me with no issues, but I know quite few people can't get screenshots to work at all. It's a shame too, once you get the game running in a nice high res, not to be able to capture any stills from it. |

Thanks for the help. I tried the procedure above but no luck.
If i delete the d3d9 files i can run the game but no res fix..... I can run the game fullscreen but when i took the screenshot it's in the 1024 x 768 format... i guess its the same res i have in the game right? By the way im using the original 2006 copy of the game..... |

I have the same problem with the resolution of SH3 and the highress-fix..(ATI 5700)
Make follow things... Before you start SH3, delete and reinstall your Graphicdriver (by me CCC 10.4) and start then SH3, wheres patched to high ress.. Then it works.. |
