Ahoy Mates!!

First post here.

I've been lurking around these waters for about a month and half now. Decided it was time to break radio silence and transmit this message to all those that might be interested.

I first like to say what a great site and great people I've seen visiting and posting and basically keeping me entertained. I've almost made myself sick from laughing so much at some of the more hilarious postings (especially from the thread about SH4 bugs at v1.0, a true classic). Through you guys I've learned quite a bit about subs of the WW2 era.

I'm currently working SH4 with UBM with the TMO 1.9 mod. My current location is classified because I'm not through with my current mission, I'm sure you guys understand.

But I don't come empty handed... My step dad, is a retired Chief of the Boat from a nuke sub so he helps me with some the details of history when he can. And he found the following link that I thought I'd pass along you guys (and gals if any)...

Go to this site for a virtual photographic tour of the USS Pampanito(SS381) which is a Balao class WWII type submarine. It was never converted to GUPPY and so the external features are just about as they were in WWII and probably the internal structures are also. Incedentially, this sub and its sister ship the USS Picuda were the first subs built by Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in a dry dock instead of on building ways.
