I consider it to be a pre day one patch. I figured on the actual release date, we may get another. That's what I meant by a day one patch. Mind you, I could be wrong. It has happened before ![]() |

Our modders here are pretty sharp.
![]() All their mods are jsgme. So if any future patches conflict out they can come easy. As has been pointed out, the big mods probably won't surface until final patching is done. CCIP ... Again saved the day as he did with SH4 with a keymap mod. ![]() Now other modders are doing the same. ![]() |

Just a reminder from someone who was here since before GWX. Initially, all supermods (GWX, NYGM, WAC, TMO, Monsun, you name it) started like a bunch of simple mods, made by various subsimmers, that were put together and made to work with one another. And those who knew how to bring them into the game themselves improved a lot their gameplay experience, long before the advent of supermods.
My advice, to all those who are waiting for a supermod before giving the game a chance: Start checking the mods that already appeared for SH5 and those that are in the works, try to find what suits you best, and start building your own "supermod." Otherwise, you're up for a long wait. ![]() |

Yes, but also it's way, way too early to seriously commit to modding this game. I think we need to see some real work on the game's hard-code issues before it'd be fair to expect modders to really start pulling heavy weight. See, for me, in order to justify spending the long hours it takes to tinker and test modifications, a game has to be both enjoyable and promising. It has to approach an experience I want, and push me towards working at building that experience. I hope and pray that SHV will get to that stage.
I personally will discourage people from taking up any but the most basic modding work on this right now, while the ball should firmly be in the development/patching team's court. |
