This would have been two nice touches to the game.
If you die on the surface, an animation showing some kind of capture/surrender scheme would have been cool. If you did underwater, some animation showing a crippled sub slowly sinking, leaking oil and bubbles, followed by an implosion would have been cool. The instant black stat screen is a let-down.
