Unless they are dumb enough to include the promise in their EULA, then all we have is an empty promise in their marketing FAQ's.

Some people are born to bow their heads down and submit.
Others stay stop and draw a line.
You have many examples through history.
That's it.

Would you accept a world where you need permission each time you want to read a book you bought ? A world where you are not allowed to buy a book nor open it until it has been checked you did really buy it ? That each time you open it to read you need PERMISSION ? That you are not allowed to offer it, lend it or sell it ?

Why would you accept for PC Games (which are part of our culture) what you would find incredible to accept as books, or music or other things you buy a licence to use like a book or CD ?

Some people just bow down their heads and accept anything.
And they will even search and find "justifications" and excuses to those
making they bow down further and further.

Rousing points Gilbou, but your final comment is unnecessary.

Sorry, but that is the second most funniest thing i've heard this year...where do they get these people ?

It reminds me of when the head of Eircom, when it was a state owned telephone network provider company, said "Broadband ? We don't envisage many people ever having a need for a faster internet connection than dial up."

He was a director too....mind you, we're all directors thesedays. I'm a director of post-it recycling myself.

Gimme a F'in break.. Ubi isn't going anywhere soon. They made $1.45 BILLION in '08 which was up from a projected $1.38B..... they are fine...
One word.

Now I must ask you: How long do you think it will take for someone to crack this "online-only" system? Not that I'm for or against it, but that's reality nowadays, whether Ubi accepts it or not.

And the struggle continues.

It will be done before the game is released.

Yes I know. Please excuse me.

I am angry.

I started with Silent Hunter II. Before, all I had was a very old PC computer with a Basic submarine game : GATO. So discovering SH2 was incredible when all I had known for years was a 4 colors Basic Ms-Dos game. SH3 redefined all of it and SH4 was nice when offering the US side of things. I was expecting SH5 to be SH3 reloaded.

I went back to SH3. I won't get SH5 and will skip it. And I don't even know if I will even consider any future versions. DRM ? No way.

I will keep a working XP inside a virtual machine on future computers, and run SH3 from there.

As the sharks say : I'm out of here.

I won't post again anything about SH5. I don't care anymore.
I'm going back to the SH3 I do like.
