I doubt it, though running the game in DX10 might give a little performance boost.

Going to 64 bit would make a little more RAM available; not all of the 4GB you have now is actually accesible under a 32 bit OS. I think you'll see more gain from going to 64 bit than switching to Win7.

Yes, I have heard about the 32 bit not recognizing all the ram. My XP only recognizes 3Gb out of 4GB.
I know very little about 64 bit. I wonder if SH3 and SH4 would run under Windows 7. I have seen other members having problems with Windows 7 and running Sh3. So, would Sh5 run with Window 7.

We don't know for sure, but I suspect this is part of the reason they state 8800 as a minimum; they support DX10. DX11 is unlikely. 64-bit executable... possible but unlikely imho.

Not sure about SH3, but SH4 runs without issues for me. To be honest, I don't understand why some are running into trouble. I suspect it has more to do with maintenance or hardware, maybe outdated drivers, etc. than with Win7.

SH5 will surely be compatible with Win7, it's a basic requirement imho since a lot of people are using it already, be it the official release or still a beta/RC release. The number is only likely to increase.

Sober, I know some people who swear by XFX, if only because they make some wicked fast factory OC models. I have a GF6200 from them, no issues/complaints. I've been in contact with their customer support about the horribly outdated drivers on their site, received response within 24hrs and the entire driver section was removed the next day, so I'd say they respond and listen to their customers.

Default GO or NO go ?

I did not see my card listed below. It is a Nvidia 9800GTX+. Does anyone know if it is a go or not? I bought it exactly a year ago for 235.00 at Best Buy. I am feeling I may have been ripped off.

Thanks Capthelm. I'm curious why you got rid of it. I am ignorant on this subject and rely on the information coming in here. I've tried reading specs but get lost in all the details. What card sir did you decide to go with. Did you mean my card is ok for the game or marginal.........I'm anxiously waiting as you had experience with the same card....

card should run the sim ok yea.

i upgraded my card to a more powerful gtx260OC

if you can run sh4 ok then youll be fine for sh5. maybe a few graphic options disabled.

for gaming i always go for slick frame rates.

what your cpu spec?

they are saying a dual core 3.0 is the way to go for running the sim.

Thank You captain. Congrats on the 260. I am breathing easier after your reply. My computer is a HP a747c, 2005 model. It is Pentium 4 at 2.85ghz with 3GB ram. That is 2-1GB sticks and 2-500mb sticks, and the card is pci express obviously. My game is on a second hard drive and is the only thing on that drive. Thanks again for the help. I never tried the enhancer program and just used the settings from the Nvidia Control panel.
