Having just bought a house i'm quite familiar with the tactics of real estate agents. They're just not going to put negatives on the advert and it's silly to expect them to start.

Nor would it really be necessary for them to do so because all one has to do nowadays is to check out the neighborhood via Google earth before making an appointment.

One would hardly miss such things like nearby power plants.

Pfft, that powerplant would make a perfect place to hide and stockpile ammo and food in case of a Zombie apocalypse. I'd rather live near it than in the middle of rural nowhereland where you have a nice view but can find no cover from the undead hordes.

What would happen to the stations staff though? Presumably the automated systems would kick in and shut the reactor down but eventual decay could cause problems. Plus, zombies are immune to radiation exposure are they not? So you'd have radioactive zombies coming after you.

However, nearby the powerstation there is a lighthouse Which is open to the public, and with only one door in you can barricade it up and have enough room to stockpile food and stuff.
Of course, you've got a LONG way to go to get to any food, the nearest town is several miles away, and where there's population there will be zombies.

You've also got the problem of French zombies coming ashore after walking the channel.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and water supplies, the whole area is virtually on the sea level (it's reclaimed) so you'd need to find a way of getting fresh water.

Would French zombies give up at the first shot fired though?

Not sure if the Zombies are resistant to radiation, I don't think they aren't, after all, they retain their old human tissue (However twisted).

Either way, if you manage to get a group of people and clear the place of the former operators, it would be much safer than a bunch of buildings where you could be cut off very easily by the hordes.

As for French zombies...I have no good solution...

Sounds like my kind of place!

When I retire for good, I'm selling everything and moving way out to West Texas and living in a Unibomber shack.

There are a couple of interesting little tidbits down at Dungeness from the war, theres a couple of sounding mirrors on the beach:

And some small remnants of the second PLUTO link.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/31834495@N08/3053651331/

As well as Captain Howeys little train set, the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway.

But aside from that, it's flat, from horizon to horizon there's barely a hedge to stop the wind, trees? Forget it, most of them are either killed by the salt or bent sideways by the wind. But there's something rather romantic in that desolation, a sense of abandonment, which works well until you're hungry, it's late at night and there's nothing in the fridge...

Oh, and Raptor, for the French zombies, teams equipped with:

And padded jackets/face masks might do the trick.

Failing that, there's the burning sea project that they trialed in the war, that might work Until the petrol ran out though

And of course, the two (soon to be one) nuclear power stations.

The bright side : The electricity should be cheap.
