Different arguments get expressed by either changing the order of one's own number sequence, or by demonising the number of the others.
Maybe Republicans should wear wife-beater clothing and Democrats skirts.

I do not think it was staged. I would agree the photographers were clicking away like mad.

I don't know for a fact, but I did find this quote;
Quote:
Under House rules, you are prohibited from casting aspersions on the motivations of your colleagues. There is even a procedure for punishing those who do. You can be stripped of your right to speak for the rest of the day on the floor if your words are taken down and ruled out of order.

No such specific prohibition exists in the House for when a president is speaking because, well, it is just not done. Members understand that presidents, no matter who they are, deserve respect.
Here's the article: http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/09/...ama/index.html

I do agree with what he wrote in this commentary. Regardless of political affiliation or the content of the speech, he is the President, Commander in Chief, and should be respected as such.

If Wilson apologized, the President accepted it, well then it's time to move on. We have more important matters that need attention. (such as figuring out how to chill down this 12 pack I forgot to put in the fridge last night)

Bah. It's small potatoes compared to the insults thrown at our last Chief Executive. The Democrats had better grow a skin because I don't think we've seen anything yet.

The sad thing is that the Speaker is far more worried about an impromptu shouted insult than in the...say the multiple instances of (alleged) unethical and illegal conduct of Charlie Rangel.

How long has the in-House Rangel investigation been going (on not going) on?

Or in the Senate, where it has taken Chris Dodd more than a year to show us his HUD 1 Settlement Statement on his Countrywide loan.

Seems like they just cant let it go...

Quote:
House Democratic leaders have decided to formally discipline Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., on Tuesday for his jeer last week at President Obama during a joint session of Congress.

All the news outlets are doing their best to spin this into a racial issue as well.

Unbelivable

Well, there are certain rules to follow while in the chamber. None-the-less the demo-lition-crates will ride this like a rental car on spring break. Typical.

The outburst was not racially motivated IMO. But who am I anyway?

Apparently according to the obama administration if you're white you're a racist.
